But, unfortunately, many very good varieties of berries have been forgotten. Just not because they began to bear fruit worse or lost their taste, just something new, more interesting. Such varieties include the "festival" strawberry. About ten years ago, it was very popular and was considered a classic. The variety's shape includes berries: conical and slightly round, very large and scarlet in color. And the bushes are dense and, very importantly, with great ability to form a mustache.

The “festival” strawberry is considered a Russian variety, therefore it is resistant to disease and drought. Each gardener expects a plentiful harvest, but not everyone knows the features of growing this variety. To do this, you need to choose seedlings, pre-sorting it and healing. And also it is necessary to take into account the diameter of the root neck (so that it is at least six millimeters) and the presence of a fibrous root system (ranging in size from seven to nine centimeters).

It is best to dig up seedlings for planting under a new crop in late autumn, in winter they need to be stored in a cool room. And it should be planted in the early spring or early autumn. The most important thing here is not to lose time, but to do everything on time. In the fall, seedlings are planted in the period from August 10 to September 25, it is desirable that this happens after a good rain. Because wet soil is the most suitable for garden strawberries. But, again, you need to monitor the degree of humidity: it should be within normal limits.

In the process of planting, the root system is placed flush with the ground, and the roots - vertically. A crust may form immediately after watering, but to prevent this from happening, moist soil is sprinkled with dry soil or humus. The “festival” strawberry does not tolerate weeds, therefore it is necessary to regularly clean the aisles from them.

When cultivating this variety, it is very important to take into account the fact that the best quality mustache grows on young plants that are planted in the first year. It is necessary to clearly identify the fruiting bushes, and then cut off all the mustaches from them, since during the growth period they consume many elements from the root system itself, as a result of which the fruits become less quality. This process is carried out in early summer, when the “festival” strawberry begins to bloom. It is important to consider that the mustache from the young root system is the strongest and most fertile. They appear in the period from May to June. During the summer, the sockets have time to fully open, and also form the best flower stalks, of which the next year they get a high yield.

Planting of strawberry seedlings is carried out in the most illuminated and fertile soil. But strawberry "festival" can be planted at partial shade, under the trees. This makes it possible to significantly save space.

Having planted seedlings in the ground, in the spring it is necessary to cut off all the flowers, leaving only a mustache. It is these plants that will be fertile in the future. This variety of garden strawberries can produce crops for many years in a row on a regular site. And in order not to make a mistake with the choice of a high-quality rosette, one must take into account that it must have well-developed leaves and (which is necessary) strong root buds. Usually they are closest to the bush.

If you take into account all the recommendations of professional gardeners, then the "festival" strawberry will delight its delicious crop of every gardener.
