New Year is a holiday filled with magic, miracles and, of course, gifts. Not a single child will refuse to present a small New Year’s hand-made article to his grandmother or other relative. Such a gift can be the application "Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden."
Materials for application
To complete this picture, you will need:
- Black or navy blue cardboard. It should be tight enough so as not to warp under the glue. You can also take a thick cardboard from under the box and paint it with the necessary gouache paint. The application "Santa Claus" will be glued to this cardboard.
- Colored paper - blue, red, beige, white and yellow. It can be any paper: plain, double-sided, glossy or even self-adhesive.
- Vata. It will be needed to add application volume.
- Glue. The best option would be a regular PVA, but also a Moment or a self-made paste.
- Scissors. For children, special scissors with closed blades and rounded ends are ideal.
- Ruler.
- A simple pencil.

- Felt-tip pens.
Beginning of work
The application "Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden" is made of cut out geometric shapes of different sizes and shapes. For this, it will be more convenient for adults to prepare cardboard templates in advance: a medium-sized circle (Santa Claus head), an average oval (Snow Maiden's head), a small oval (mittens), two triangles of different sizes (Santa Claus and Snow Maiden's fur coats), two rectangles of different sizes (hands ), two small triangles (caps), a small star, a very small circle, a large circle (a bag with gifts), a small triangle.
Next, from the colored paper you need to cut the right amount of all these shapes. The application "Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden" consists of the following steps:
- From blue colored paper you need to cut one triangle (a coat for the Snow Maiden), one small triangle (the hat for the Snow Maiden), two small ovals (mittens of the Snow Maiden), two rectangles (the hands of the Snow Maiden).
- Of red paper - a large triangle (Santa Claus fur coat), a smaller triangle (hat), two small ovals (mittens), two rectangles (hands), a large circle (bag) and a small triangle.

- Half of the cardboard base must be sealed with white paper. It will be snowing.
- Then you need to decompose the figures so that the application "Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden" is obtained. To do this, first gather the figures of Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, who will be standing nearby. From the side of Santa Claus a bag with gifts is put. When assembling the bag on top of the circle, a small red triangle is applied , the corner of which closes a little around.
- Stars and snowflakes are laid out uniformly and randomly in the picture, without affecting the white half of the cardboard.
- Then all parts of the application are glued to the cardboard with glue.
End of work
The application "Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden" is made voluminous with the help of cotton wool.
To do this, a thin layer of glue smears the snow at the bottom of the picture, the beard area of Santa Claus, the lower edge of the caps and fur coats of the heroes, sleeve cuffs and snowflakes. Then cotton wool is neatly distributed in these places. There should be little cotton on the snow and snowflakes, but on coats and hats it is better to take it more and stick it thicker. Santa Claus's beard is made of any desired length and density. Also from cotton wool you can make a collar or scythe Snegurochka.
After the glue dries, with felt-tip pens you need to draw Santa Claus and Snow Maiden faces. You can also decorate fur coats and a gift bag with patterns.
