Crane wheels. Production

A crane is a device that helps to move loads. As a rule, cranes are widely used in various industries, for example, in heavy engineering, metallurgy, shipbuilding and many others. This device works in several stages.

Principle of operation

The first stage consists in capturing the cargo, then it is transported to the necessary place, and then the final process is the return of all mechanisms to their original position for the subsequent movement of other goods. The crane installation consists of a supporting metal structure (trellised or box-shaped section), a load-gripping mechanism, which includes pliers, an electromagnet, a spreader, as well as a lifting device. Depending on what type of crane is used, there are several ways to move it.

Types of mechanisms

Transport mechanisms that have a rail track. This category includes jib, gantry, rail and gantry cranes. Their use occurs in limited conditions, which is why their operation in engineering is associated, as well as in the maintenance of hydroelectric power plants and workshops. The rail mechanism includes a rail track and a crane wheel, due to which the crane moves. This is a very important detail.

Crane wheels

This is the basic part of the whole mechanism. Like other parts, they require replacement. A regular load of several tons can deform the beams in the place where the wheels are attached.

This can cause damage to the flanges. The ribs are the protruding edges of the wheel rim, holding the installation on rails. In addition, gauge wear can also lead to their deformation. The transport mechanisms used in mounted gearboxes are subject to distortion of low-speed shafts due to the large volume of loads. The crane wheel is made of three types: single-ribbed, non-ribbed and double-ribbed. The difference is in the form of a cross section, where there may be one, two protrusions or they may be absent altogether. The crane wheels are also divided according to the shape of the rim.
Crane wheels

The shape may be cylindrical or conical. Crane wheels are made both from standard workpieces, and according to individual sizes required by a particular client. The width of the rolling surface is calculated from the fact that it is several centimeters greater than the width of the rail. This is necessary for the normal movement of the crane on rails, where deformation may appear in the future.

Standards

Crane wheels are made of high-strength steel grade 65G GOST 14959-79. After that, they undergo sorbitization to increase strength, as well as increase resistance to high loads. For this, special equipment is used, which makes it possible to fulfill the most complex customer requirements, as well as implement the latest metal processing technologies. This allows you to produce truly high quality products.
