"Krasnaya Gorka" (Kemerovo) is a museum-reserve, which was created in 1991. Until this year, a coal mine was located in this territory, in whose honor the reserve was named. The territory of the museum is an open space. It was here, on the banks of the picturesque Tom River, that unique monuments erected in honor of the mining industry were preserved.
From the history of the coal industry
All these exhibits and in their own unique nature create a single plot that reflects the history of mining in the city of Kuzbass. Each stage of the development of industry was captured with the help of these monuments, and to this day tells the whole difficult history of the development of the coal industry. One of the most ancient monuments of the Krasnaya Gorka Museum (Kemerovo) is Gorelyaya Gora; it was here that the beginning of the Kuznetsk coal basin was laid. This monument dates back to 1721. Here it was even possible to preserve the mouth of one of the first adits, which was called the Kemerovo mine. The opening of the adit occurred in 1907.
One of the oldest city structures is the construction of organizations that laid the foundation for the development of the coal industry, as well as Kuzbass as a whole. The building is an office, as well as a small residential building for the head of the mine. Today, the Krasnaya Gorka Museum (Kemerovo) is open in this building.
History of occurrence
The building was erected using stone, which was made from a local sand mine. The construction is an architectural monument. Yet the rest of the buildings, residential buildings and buildings of social significance were built at the expense of the international fund. This organization was created by America and Europe, which provided financial assistance in the territory of Kuzbass in 1922-1927.
This project is unique in its kind. In the process, many nations were united, which showed very high results and the productivity of joint work. Most of the structures that have survived to this day were the projects of the Dutch architect J. B. van Lohem. These structures are also monuments of architecture.
Monuments of the present
In addition to the buildings of the last century, there are modern monuments on the territory, because the coal industry continues to develop even today. Thus, in 2003, a new monument appeared, which is called “In Memory of the Kuzbass Miners”. The monument is a
sculpture of Ernst the Unknown. In 2007, the Kemerovo mine turned exactly 100 years old, celebrations were started on this occasion, and a new sculpture called the Holy Great Martyr Varvara, the patroness of miners, became the holiday's decoration.
Museum expositions
Museum-reserve "Krasnaya Gorka" (Kemerovo) has quite interesting and extensive expositions, namely:
- "Mine". This exposition is dedicated to the working days of ordinary miners. The room is decorated in the style of a mine and a face. You can see real tools, jackhammers, icon lamps and much more that the miners used underground.
- "How Russia grew by the Kuzbass." This exhibition is dedicated to the history of industrial development, you can find out a whole host of all kinds of nuances of the construction and development of mines and mines.
- "Kemerovo is a city of optimists." This exposition is dedicated to the history of the city as a whole. Describes the process of formation of society and much more.
