In the 90s of the XX century, the Scandinavian needlewoman sewed a doll from scraps of unusable fabric and called it Tilda. The name became a household name, and toys conquered the whole world. Probably in every house there is a man-made or bought doll - tilde. They bring comfort and a touch of antiquity to the interior.
Tilda doll: a pattern for beginners
Sew a beautiful doll for forces even beginner craftswomen. Tilda is an incredibly simple toy and is famous for its ease of manufacture. It is practically impossible to find patterns of a tilde doll with sizes, since the drawing is simple and differs in minimalism. In order to start making your own tilda patterns yourself, it is enough to cut the toy once.
Above is the first part of a full-size tilde doll pattern. This image must be printed on A4 sheet. Each part is made of one type of fabric, and the dotted line indicates the places for lace tape and assemblies.
The second part of the full-size tilde doll pattern is also designed for A4 format. As can be seen from the drawing, the finished toy will have small wings. It is not necessary to make them, if, according to the authorβs idea, the dollβs image will be domestic, wings can even be superfluous.
The photograph above shows the finished work performed according to the above full-size tilde doll patterns. The final appearance of the product is very much dependent on the selected materials and the quality of the performance of hidden seams.
How to choose the right materials and cut the doll
It is better to select fabrics and other materials already with ready-made patterns. It is more convenient to make a full-size tilde doll pattern on thick paper - so they can be pinned to the fabric and not be afraid to spoil them.
The finished toy patterns are laid out on the selected materials to make sure that they are compatible with each other. Transferring patterns to the fabric, do not forget about allowances. It is better to use a synthetic winterizer as a filler, but regular cotton wool will do.
The process of sewing and assembling a doll
Once the details of the toy are cut, you can start sewing and stuffing the doll. Some parts can be stitched on a typewriter, such as a torso.
Patterns are folded together with the front side inward, the parts can be fastened with tailor's carnations or assembled on a string. The bottom edge does not need to be completed. The body should be turned out and evenly filled.
The rest of the toy is performed in the same way. Particular attention should be paid to paired details: arms, legs and wings. Flaws and a sloppy seam can cause your arms and legs to look asymmetrical. In order for the legs to bend, in the middle of each limb you need to lay a line.
The tilda skirt, like other clothes, is performed separately. You can not sew ready-made objects to the doll, but simply dress it. It is better for novice masters to simplify the work and carefully sew on the skirt as shown in the image above. The main thing is to try to make the seam as less noticeable as possible.
The hands and wings of the tilde doll also need to be sewn very carefully. The seam should be even, the position of the parts is symmetrical relative to the body of the toy.
Secrets of creating tilda hairstyles
Hairstyle is an important element of the image of the tilde doll. To imitate hair, you can take knitting yarn, but natural wool, which can be purchased at needlework and hobby stores, is best suited.
The secret of beautiful tilde hair is that you need to sew the mass to the head with the very same wool, and not with threads. In the image above, you can consider in detail the method for performing this part of the work.
For beautiful "bagels" you need to take a thin copper wire and wind part of the doll's hair onto it. Then you just need to roll the rod, bend it well and hide the end of the wire.
