Not sure how to make a bulky tank? Application is much simpler. Invite the boy to make a relief that repeats the shape and color of the combat vehicle. This is not difficult, and the child will be proud of the result of his work. Moreover, the application is easy to decorate a card or other thing.
Which base to choose
So that your tank (application) not only looks beautiful itself, but also can perform a decorative function, it is worth foreseeing in advance what you will create the craft on. There are several options:
- Fold a sheet of paper or cardboard in the form of a postcard and stick the parts on the front side.
- Take a neat, even sheet of paper or cardboard and do the artwork in the form of a panel, which you then draw in a frame.
- Make an application of felt on a denser basis of the same material. This small option can be used as a souvenir magnet.
- You can make an application from a fabric on a finished thing (T-shirt, bag, pencil case for stationery).
As you can see, there are several possibilities. Consider using the application in advance and choose the right foundation.
Tools and materials
In order for you to get a neat tank, the application must be carried out using the following accessories:
- Pencil
- Scissors.
- Glue.
- Colored paper or fabric for image details.
- Backgrounds made of dense material (cardboard, felt, etc.)
- Thread with a needle for working with felt (optional).
It is also better to use a tank template for an application that makes it easy to cut out all the necessary details, and you can see what color each element should be.
A very realistic object of military equipment will turn out if you use a fabric of a special protective color or paint the paper in such a shade. This can be done in gouache or watercolors on the contours previously applied with a pencil.
An interesting and natural effect is not difficult to achieve if a drop of solvent is placed in a container of water, and a few oil paints of appropriate shades (two or three) are put on its surface. After you lower the paper for a few seconds, from which you will later cut the tank parts onto the surface of the prepared container, the sheet will be covered with a layer of paint in the form of free spots that mimic the camouflage color of military equipment.

- The wheels can be made in the form of rings, then circle the pattern four times, or each wheel can be made up of two circles. Otherwise, 4 large and small blanks are required.
- Cut out all the elements.
- Stick the parts onto the base according to the sample.
- If the panel was made, place it in a frame by gluing strips of colored paper or cardboard on the sides.
Fabric applique
This decor can be used as a patch on jeans, a jacket, backpack or other object. The felt option is suitable as a magnet. The essence of the technology is not much different from working with paper, especially if you use felt. First, all the necessary elements are cut out in the right amount, and then they are glued in layers or sewn onto the base. Sewing can be done either manually, with stitches running along the contour at an equal distance, or using a decorative machine stitch. Small parts made of felt are quite simple to stick on. If protective fabric was not found at hand, use a greenish shade and embroider a pattern on it.
So, the tank (application) is easily made of paper, felt or other fabric of suitable color. With this craft, it’s easy to decorate the front side of the postcard, create a magnet as a gift, arrange a wall panel or make a patch of fabric for a backpack, t-shirt or pencil case.
