Embossed crocheted crochet: photo, designation, application

An element such as a crocheted embossed column is easy to crochet. It gives knitters the opportunity to implement very interesting projects. Three-dimensional patterns and ornaments that result from the use of PCs imitate canvases knitted with needles. Sometimes these patterns even surpass the originals due to the higher stiffness characteristic of crocheting.

How to knit embossed posts

The technology for performing this technique is elementary. The bottom line is that for the formation of MS, you should not enter a hook under the upper loops (pigtails) of the row. Instead, the tool should be wound directly under the double crochet (CCH).

As a rule, the row preceding the row with MS is formed using conventional CCHs. Based on them, they perform the described actions.

Getting a hook under the CCH on the front side of the canvas (in other words, before work), you get a embossed column with a crochet front. The wrong side of the PC will turn out when the hook is brought under the CCH from the wrong side (at work). More clearly, these actions are depicted in the diagram below.

The front PC looks above the main level of the canvas and is convex. The wrong side, on the contrary, is deeply recessed in the canvas. The combination of these techniques and their various combinations underlie all patterns with MS.

Crochet elastic

Alternating in a certain sequence of front and back RS, you can get a pattern that resembles a classic elastic band, knitted with needles. It is used for the same purposes: the design of cuffs, the lower edge of the product, the necks and collars. It must be admitted that the elasticity of the elastic crochet loses to the fabric knitted with needles, but gives the products an aesthetic and complete look.

Alternate front and back MS can be in a different sequence. For example, one after one, two after two, or two after one. As a result, the resulting vertical stripes and the distance between them will be of different widths.

Having mastered the skill of knitting RS, the knitter can be taken for tasks that are more complicated than elastic.

The top of skill in this area can be considered the weaving of complex braids, tows and the formation of three-dimensional pattern on a flat canvas.

paintings with embossed columns

All these ornaments are formed using the general principle: interweaving RS.

The inclined element of the volumetric pattern forms a relief column with a crochet made by a hook. Its basis is not CCH directly below it, but located on the right or left. Subsequent PCs are already based on this inclined element. That is, during further work, in order to tie the PC, the hook must be brought under the previous inclined relief column. This creates the wicker effect. Oblique strips of one or more RSs can interweave. Thanks to the use of this technique, the most skilled craftswomen can try their hand at creating paintings with complex Celtic knots. They look good on bedspreads, cushions, rugs and other interior items.

Knitted embossed caps

The cap shown in the photograph above is associated with the use of PC. Its edge is made separately from the main canvas. The bar was made across the RLS. Volumetric strips are formed when knitting RLS only under one of the two "braids". The second, remaining free, forms a scar.

The finished bar was sewn and tied in the first row of the main fabric. Further work was carried out exclusively with the help of PC. A vertical strip is formed by a front embossed column with a crochet, crocheted, the gap, respectively, is wrong.

How to crochet a braid

Now it's time to talk about how the formation of the most interesting and complex element of the canvas - braids. In the case of knitting a small tourniquet from a pair of RSs, you can follow the path of least resistance: knit several rows, alternating the required number of front and back RSs, and perform interlacing by simply changing the direction of the RS. This is possible when changing their mounting location. Then again several rows of even canvas - and another interlacing.

However, this method will not work if you want to make a braid with a large number of PCs in each strand.

First, you need to connect a small section of each strand with short return rows.

The weaving and its fixation is performed in the process of knitting the next general row.

The basis for the braid can serve as a relief column with a crochet or two crochets.

It should be noted that when working with wide strands of braids, one of them should be formed from a PC with one common base (“bush”). This will allow to achieve the proportionality of the embossed canvas with its lower edge.

The completion of the cap is the gradual narrowing of the canvas. To do this, reduce the PC between the main elements of the pattern, and the remaining loops are tightened with a strong thread.
