What do you need to create a toy?
List of basic items for creating a fabric toy:
- patterns of toys;
- threads
- the cloth;
- filler;
- needle.
Advice:
- sewing is most convenient with a sewing machine;
- choose a bright fabric, it is possible with an abstract pattern ;
- give preference to a hypoallergenic filler, such as siliconized fiber, holofiber;
- ordinary children’s clothing can also serve as jewelry (for example, put a small blouse or T-shirt on the little animal).
DIY soft toys. Patterns. Workshops on their creation
If you have at least some drawing skills, then creating a pattern for a toy is not difficult.
Do-it-yourself fabric toy pattern is created as follows:
- Draw it in the shadow of the existing toy. To do this, put a cat, puppy or someone else in profile in front of the lamp. After that, put a white sheet of paper so that the shadow from the toy falls on it. Circle the shadow with a pencil. Pattern is ready.
- You can also resort to fantasy. Sketch a future toy. Divide it into details (for example, body, head, legs, tail) and draw each separately. Parts should be drawn in profile.
DIY patterns of fabric toys (simple options) can also be made as follows: take an old toy, arrange it and look at the details. This should be done carefully at the seam, without damaging the fabric itself. So you will understand how to build a pattern and what it is.
Do not be afraid to experiment. DIY toy fabric pattern, containing a minimum of details, is suitable for beginners. Then you can proceed to the big ones.
Cute cat
How to make soft toys with your own hands? The pattern and the manufacturing process will be considered on the example of a cat toy.
- The cat pattern is shown, so take and print (redraw) it.
- Cut out all the details of the pattern and transfer it to the fabric with a chalk, pencil or marker. Do not forget that we draw the contours from the back, after folding the fabric in two layers.
- Sew the fabric parts clearly along the contour.
- Cut stitched details.
- Make a small cut in the center of the muzzle and twist it.
- Make a small incision on the seal’s body, where you plan to sew the muzzle, and twist the part.
- Place the filler inside the muzzle and body.
- Sew the cuts in two pieces.
- The turn of the muzzle came. Make a spout out of thread or a piece of fabric stuffed with filler, sew in bead eyes and sew a mouth out of thread.
- Sew the muzzle to the body.
The cat is ready. Such a toy can be used as a pillow or decoration on a door handle.
Magic snail
It is not at all necessary to do something complicated, if the pattern of toys made of fabric with your own hands contains simple details, then the craft will be ordinary.
From such ordinary elements you can make a completely magical soft toy.
Work sequence:
- Print the pattern and cut out the details.
- Take two types of fabric - for the shell and body.
- Fold the fabric in half, facing inward.
- Attach the details of the pattern with pins and circle them.
- Sew the details along the contour, leaving the place marked on the pattern with the contour.
- Turn parts through the holes left.
- Push the filler into the parts of the cochlea tightly and gently.
- Sew holes with a hidden seam.
- Sew the shell to the body.
Now you can decorate the snail, trusting your imagination. In the presented example, the toy is decorated using a patch of another fabric, on which the accessories in one style are glued - bows, flowers, and other decorations. With a chalk, pastel or paint, draw a blush and eyes, tie a bow around the neck, and glue the flower on top. And to the junction of the shell and shell, notice the white lace.
Funny goat
This soft toy-goat made of fabric, which you can sew with your own hands according to the following pattern, will appeal to both children and adults.
Operating procedure:
- Transfer the pattern to the fabric.
- Sew the fabric along the contour, leaving a small piece on the tummy, and cut it out.
- Turn out a detail.
- Carefully fill the body with filler.
- Sew an unwired piece.
- Make a face: sew small buttons or beads in place of the eye, underneath with a thread embroider your nose and mouth.
To make the goat original, sew a toy from an abstract fabric and decorate the horns and neck with bows.
The main details of the pattern of toys made of fabric do-it-yourself
Simple details of this pattern allow you to make a whole menagerie. It is enough to replace some of them - and you can sew a bear, a bunny, a cat.
For example, if the pattern of toys made of fabric (with your own hands you prepared several different options for the parts) contains a long tail - get a raccoon or cat, long ears - a rabbit, leave it as it is - a teddy bear, curled tail - a pig, and if you add brushes to sharp ears, then we get a trot.
The main thing is to choose the right color for the fabric and make the appropriate face. That is, if you are making a raccoon, do not forget that he has black stripes on the tail and a mask on his face.
The undoubted advantage of this pattern is that all four legs move at the finished toy, and it will be interesting for the child to play with it.
Little bear with blue ears
Such a wonderful bear can be made according to the above pattern, without resorting to any additional changes in the details.
The procedure for creating toys:
- Cut out the details of the pattern.
- We translate the pattern into a fabric folded in two layers. For the ears and nose, select a blue color, and for all other details - a different one.
- Stitch the details, leaving on each a little free space necessary for turning and filling. On the body, head and ears - at the bottom of the part, on the paws-hands - at the top, and on the paws-legs - at the top and bottom. Do not stitch the details of the feet.
- Cut stitched parts.
- Turn each one out.
- Fill everything except the nose and ears with filler. Pay special attention to the tummy.
- Sew the details of the feet to the bottom of each of the legs.
- Sew the head to the body and all four legs in a circle, trying to make a hidden seam.
- Sew the ears onto your head to shape them.
- Make a face: sew beads or buttons in place of the eyes, sweep the nose and embroider the mouth.
Bear is ready! If desired, you can attach a tail to it. To do this, make another piece at least as small as the nose. Put it on the back of the teddy bear and fill it with filler a little. Sew a ponytail.
Add a neck scarf or scarf to the little bear, and if it is a girl, then bows on the ears.
Do not forget that the toys should be bright and interesting, and all the details, including those used for the decor, are carefully sewn or glued.
