Rosa Sangria: photos and description

Crossbreeding of tea-hybrid and polyanthus roses resulted in floribunda. The new group took the best from their ancestors. Among the most unusual varieties is the Sangria rose. It is distinguished by lush and abundant flowering, dense flowers.

Rose sangria

Grade description

A plant with small flowers, saturated colors of pink fuchsia. Rosa Sangria has a strong aroma. The flowers are thick, resemble a veil against a background of dark green leaves. Up to ten flowers with a diameter of six centimeters are formed on each stem. Sangria is characterized by prolonged flowering.

According to the description, the Sangria rose is not very high - about sixty centimeters. The bush is very compact, spreading. The variety is ideal for growing on lawns, as borders. Rosa Sangria has high frost resistance. However, when grown in the northern regions, the plant needs shelter.

Features of seedling selection

Having decided to plant a rose floribunda, attention should be paid to the choice of seedling. The grafted plant must have at least two ripened lignified shoots with green bark. It should not be any damage. Be sure to inspect the root system. It should have many small roots. The root neck is also examined. Its diameter should be the same above and below it and not exceed eight millimeters.

Choosing a landing place

To get a beautiful, as in the photo, rose Sangria, you need to choose the right landing site. Floribunda loves bright areas, but this does not mean that the plant should be placed on a site where the sun shines all day. With this arrangement, the floribunda will quickly fade. If the plant is located on the southern side of the garden, the bush can get sunburn and suffer from excessive dryness.

So that the plant for a long time pleased with abundant flowering, you should choose a corner in which there is a slight shade in the midday heat. Do not place the plant in a draft.

Preparing the soil for planting

Floribunda prefer light sandy clay soils with breathability. During irrigation or rain, water should be quickly absorbed into the ground.

The landing site must be prepared in advance. Dig the earth to the depth of the shovel. During this procedure, phosphorus fertilizers, vermicompost in the form of manure or compost are necessarily added.

Landing

There are two methods for planting roses:

  • Method 1. A landing pit 60X60 cm in size is dug. A pre-prepared mixture is laid on its bottom. Then the plant sinks into the pit: the depth of incorporation is determined by the grafting site. It should be five centimeters below the soil level. When planting, the roots are necessarily straightened and gradually covered with soil. It should be rammed as the roots fall asleep. After planting, the rose is watered. As soon as the water is completely absorbed, the plant is sprinkled with earth and left in this form until spring.
  • Method 2. A bucket of water is poured into the landing pit. Until it is absorbed, a plant is quickly planted. The seedling is located in the center of the pit, sprinkled with earth. Soil with water perfectly fill all the voids between the roots. With this planting option, the plant is not watered. The next day, when the water from the landing hole is completely absorbed and the soil settles, the earth is added.

When planting a plant by any method, be sure to monitor the level of location of the vaccine. It should be covered with soil. If the place of the stock is above the ground level, then wild growth will go from this place.

When planting a rose in dry and warm weather, it is necessary to protect it with wet moss or some other material that retains moisture for a long time. From the sunlight, the shoots are covered with paper, having previously cut them, leaving no more than four buds.

Watering

Floribunda love a lot of water. In different phases of growth, the rose consumes a different amount of water. Most of all, it is needed during the period of intensive development and growth: during budding, during the development of leaves and shoots, as well as after flowering and during the growth of new shoots.

Without the right amount of water, the roses grow weak shoots, few flowers. The latter are on shortened legs and not terry.

Do not water the plants in the heat. During irrigation, water should not fall on the plant, but should flow in a stream to the base of the bush.

The end of summer and the autumn period are such seasons when plants are watered with care and only as necessary. Excess moisture at this time encourages the plant to further growth and development, and yet it must prepare for the rest period. On this basis, starting in September, they stop watering the rose. From this period, the moisture that it receives with precipitation is enough for her. If the autumn is dry, then the bush will have to be watered.

Top dressing

The photo and description of the Sangria rose shows that the plant needs constant fertilizer. It promotes abundant flowering. However, they should not be abused either, since roses are sensitive to excess salts in the soil. The ideal solution is to use special complex fertilizers for roses according to the instructions on the package.

In addition to mineral fertilizers, you can use organic fertilizers in the form of well-decayed manure or compost. This type is used before planting. Fertilizer is embedded in the soil at the rate of ten kilograms per square meter of soil. On heavy soils of manure, 1.2 of the indicated norm is applied.

For abundant flowering, floribundas are fed according to the following scheme:

  1. In the early spring, before the bushes are opened, they apply sixty grams of full fertilizer per square meter of land, scattering it on the ground. After fertilizing, you can open the plants. At this point, the fertilizer will be in the ground.
  2. In mid-May, with the advent of buds, the plant is fed a complex fertilizer. To do this, prepare the composition in a bucket of water according to the instructions on the fertilizer (you need to take the amount of funds that is indicated on the package, usually 5-10 ml of liquid fertilizer and about thirty grams of dry). Three liters of solution are poured under the bush.
  3. At the end of June, nutrient irrigation is repeated.

Gardeners reviews

According to reviews, the rose Sangria needs careful care. The variety must be properly formed. For this purpose, pruning is carried out twice a year: in spring and summer.

Sangria rose reviews

Gardeners say that the variety requires shelter for the winter, although the description says that it is frost-resistant. Otherwise, everyone who grows a plant in their own area is satisfied with it.
