Modern houses and apartments are equipped with various communication systems. Moreover, in them you can find just a huge number of different household electrical appliances and other devices for everyday use. Each of these gadgets requires a connection to the electric network, and some of them even to the Internet. For this, various wires are used, which are located almost throughout the apartment, turning it into a kind of power station.
To solve the problem with the wires, use a plastic baseboard with a cable channel, although there is a technology that involves the shelter of wires in specially made boxes. However, such boxes are immediately evident and spoil the appearance of the room. Moreover, if the apartment is being renovated, you will still have to purchase new materials to frame the corners of the floor and wall, and a plastic baseboard with a cable channel will be an ideal solution in this case.
It is worth noting that it is necessary to use it around the perimeter of the room. This is due to the fact that each party can have a certain shade, which is peculiar only to it. Therefore, if you do not install a skirting board with a cable channel in the whole room and leave passes behind the furniture, then, when rearranging, you will not be able to find the missing part of the required color, even in the largest building materials market.

However, this type of material in plastic execution has its drawbacks. Its installation requires a perfectly flat wall. Otherwise, all the filler defects that the skirting board with the cable channel will show will be noticeable. A wooden product of this type can hide flaws (this will require putty). Also, plastic products have a rather fragile structure. If you accidentally touch the foot, they can simply burst. But their device allows for quick dismantling without damage to the skirting boards themselves. This makes it possible to access all wires (as needed). That is why a skirting board with a cable channel is often used instead of boxes for laying cable routes, if you have to work with a small number of them.
There are two ways to install these skirting boards. The first involves mounting around the entire perimeter of special latches on which the selected material will be installed. In the second method, special self-tapping screws are used, with the help of which the skirting board with the cable channel penetrates through, fixing it to the wall.
The first mounting option does not differ in tight interaction with the wall and does not tolerate frequent dismantling. It is suitable only in areas with ideal walls and in small segments, although manufacturers call it the most reliable. The second method provides good portability of any dismantling, great for fixing minor defects, but during initial installation it requires accuracy and also has a not very attractive appearance. Although many experts have learned how to hide the hats remaining on the surface from self-tapping screws, they are practically not visible on the baseboard itself.
