How to make paper balls with your own hands?

Paper balls can be not only a creative toy, but also a great budget decor. They can be used one at a time or to make whole garlands. We offer you some ideas for crafts. Instructions and diagram of a paper ball are attached to each option.

What will be needed to make paper balls?

To make a ball of paper with your own hands, you do not need special materials and tools. To do this, it is enough to have a sheet of paper. You can use any loose format: landscape sheet, colored paper, packaging and so on.

As additional materials, you may need scissors, a needle with a thread, glue or double-sided tape.

Origami from paper - accordion ball

To make such an original garland, special efforts will not be required. Just a little perseverance is enough.

Instructions on how to make paper balls:

1. Take a rectangular piece of paper (picture 1).
2. Draw rectangular lines with a pencil and ruler (Figure 2).
3. Then, in the middle of the leaf, perpendicular to the drawn lines, draw another one, zigzag (picture 2).
4. Along the edges of the rectangle, between all drawn lines, make holes using a regular needle (picture 3).
5. Fold the rectangle along the drawn lines into an accordion (picture 4).
6. Turn the sheet with the back side and bend it in a zigzag line (picture 6).
7. Now gently do the inward and outward folds on those lines that intersect the zigzag (images 6 and 7). It takes patience. As a result, you should get such a strip of paper, as in picture 8.
8. Pass a needle and thread through the holes made in step 4 (Figure 9).
9. Connect the thread and glue the ends of the paper with clerical glue (picture 10).

One volumetric ball of paper is ready. Similarly, make a few more balls and connect them into a garland.

Magic ball of paper

It would be harder to make such a magical paper ball. But the result of your work will be simply amazing! Therefore, the time and effort spent is worth it.

So, the instruction on how to make paper balls:

1. Take a rectangular sheet of paper. The aspect ratio should be approximately 1: 2.
2. Fold it in half in length.
3. Then expand the sheet. You will get a long fold in the middle.
4. Make a few folds on two sides of the center. Their number above and below should be the same, as well as their size. The larger the number of folds, the more beautiful the ball will result in.
5. Flatten the sheet.
6. Fold it in half to get another fold that will be perpendicular to the existing ones.
7. Expand the sheet again and make a few more identical perpendicular folds, similar to what you did in step 4.
8. Flatten the sheet and flip it toward you. Thus, the folds will be at the bottom.
9. Lay the sheet in length. Take a pencil or pen and draw crosses (X) in two lines of long folds. The center of the cross should be on the line of the perpendicular fold. Thus, your cross will occupy four cells. Each next should be in contact with the previous one upper and one lower corner.
10. Fill the bottom of the sheet with crosses.
11. Draw the second row above the first, it should begin by stepping back one cell. The third row should begin where the first. Fill the sheet with rows of crosses to the end, not forgetting to alternate indents.
12. Start bending the cross-stitch sheet from the first row. The folds should be alternately first left, then right. For convenience, you can take a ruler.
13. Do the same with the rest of the rows of crosses.
14. When all the bends are ready, you can start assembling.

Assembling a magic ball from paper

To collect a ball from paper, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Put a sheet of paper with the crosses up.
2. Take a leaf and begin to bend the cross along the folds with the center inward.
3. So do with each of them all over a piece of paper.
4. As a result, you get an original accordion.
5. Bend the rows along the edges of the leaf inward.
6. Take the glue and brush the edges with it.
7. Glue the edges of the sheet together.

The magic ball is ready!

Flower ball

Instructions on how to make paper balls in this style:

1. Take a sheet of square paper.
2. Connect the opposite corners to make a triangle (picture 1).
3. Connect the two bottom corners to the top (picture 2).
4. Fold the right triangle (picture 3). You will see that a bend line is obtained that visually divides the angle into two parts (Figure 4).
5. Fold the bottom triangle, as in picture 5.
6. Flatten the edge. As a result, you should get it as shown in Figure 6.
7. Fold a small triangle under one layer of paper (Figure 7).
8. Bend the “tail” of two triangles on the sides (picture 8).
9. Insert the triangles into the pocket closest to them (Figure 9).
10. Five of these modules need to be glued together. In the picture 10, the place of application of glue is conditionally indicated.
11. Glue all five molds together with the corners of the petals (picture 11).
12. When you connect all the modules, do not forget to glue the cord if you plan to hang the ball.

The flower ball is ready!

Paper balloon

To create such an inflatable balloon, do the following:

1. We take a square sheet of paper.
2. We bend its opposite corners, two pairs.
3. You get two visual fold lines that intersect in the middle.
4. Now we take a leaf and make a triangle out of it. To do this, bend the sheet again, making a perpendicular line with respect to one of the existing ones. Fold the sheet.
5. Fold the two corners of one of the triangles to the third.
6. Repeat the same with the other side.
7. Now in front of you is a rhombus. Turn it one of the peaks up.
8. Fold the two vertices of the rhombus to the middle, where you already have the connection of the two corners of the triangle.
9. Do the same with the other side of the rhombus.
10. Press on one of the turned away peaks.
11. Put one corner of the resulting figure into it.
12. Do the same with the adjacent corner.
13. Turn the figure over and repeat steps 11 and 12.
14. Now turn what happened, the middle to yourself. There was a hole through which you can inflate the ball.

The balloon is ready!

Advice

A few tips on how to make paper balls are quick and easy:

1. It is most convenient to use glue stick to connect the edges of the paper. With its help, paper sticks together faster, and no flows of excess glue will be visible.
2. In order to make bends, use an ordinary ruler.
3. To make the balls truly original, take the packing paper.
4. Use beads, beads and small accessories to decorate products.
5. Do not use cardboard, as the sheet must be folded several times. With cardboard, this will not work.
