Today, crocheting is a very popular type of needlework: both among young people and among older people. Indeed, with the help of this technique a lot of things can be done, starting from a phone case or a stylish bag decorated with beads, and ending with clothes and carpets. Even children can do this art, because hooks of a sufficiently large size are safe (in comparison with needles and pins). Knitting mechanics develops fine motor skills and instills patience and perseverance, while the process itself calms and pacifies.
The indisputable advantage of crocheting is that, depending on the chosen yarn and hook, you can either quickly make a large product (cloak, carpet), or create an airy, almost weightless spider web (napkins), or find a middle ground that is optimally suited for one or another target. Such freedom justifies the breadth of application of this technique.
But no matter what product is knitted, the basic techniques remain unchanged. And the basic element in this type of needlework is a crochet post. This is exactly the technique that is mastered immediately after a chain of air loops, without which, in principle, it is impossible to start any work.
So, what is a crochet post? In order to create it, you need to dial a chain of air loops (or already have a knitted fabric of some length). Knitting is from right to left. Don't let the photos of this lesson bother you. They are very good for left-handed people, but a person knitting with his right hand should do everything in a mirror image.
If you start work with a chain of loops, then you should enter the hook into the second (counting from the hook) loop. If you are starting a new row in an existing fabric, you should first dial one air loop (a rotation loop, as it is often called by experienced knitters).
After that, you need to hook the working thread.
And pull it through the loop into which you passed the hook in the first step.
After that, we again capture the working thread.
And we stretch it through both loops located on the hook.
The first crochet post is ready. We continue further knitting according to the same pattern, introducing a hook into adjacent loops of the base.
Single crochet stitches can be knitted in three ways. The hook can be inserted under both half loops of the base (standard knitting). Or just for one - front or back (embossed single crochet). Also, these options can be alternated. Many knitting options are created precisely thanks to this technique (for example, elastic).
Thus, crochet a crochet is the main technique of this type of knitting. All other columns (double crochet, double crochet, etc.) are modifications of this. If you master the single crochet, then all other tricks will be given to you quite easily. Yes, and using this technique alone, you can connect many beautiful and original things.
