At the end of the school year, many teachers give students lists of literature that must be studied during the holidays. However, books need not just be read. Teachers require that the material studied be entered in the reader's diary. Unfortunately, many children do not cope with this task, because they do not know how to keep a reader's diary and what it really is.
Who needs a reader diary
Some parents have a negative attitude towards BH. You can often hear the phrase: “How to keep a child’s diary, even if I sometimes don’t remember the name of the author or the heroes of the work I read? I liked it — I remembered it, I didn’t like it — why keep it in my memory! Anyway, I already have it under the stick reads. " Unfortunately, such statements can be heard quite often. Based on this, we can conclude that we read only for a minute of entertainment. However, this is not quite true.

The comprehensive school curriculum includes works that teach children kindness, mutual understanding, relationships and other necessary qualities of an intellectually developed person. Moreover, the goal of the reader’s diary is not to develop a love of reading in the kid. As a rule, children read any work (even a fairy tale) in order to learn something interesting that they had not heard about before. In addition, many educational institutions hold contests, quizzes or marathons, in which children have to remember what they once read. For example, to tell a fairy tale, a riddle, to answer a question about some hero. And how will they be able to do this if the material they have read has long since flown out of memory? If the kid will know how to keep a reading diary and use this knowledge, then the information will be available to him at any time.
What is a reader diary for?
A reading diary is a kind of cheat sheet that will help a child recall all the material he has ever read. In addition, BH teaches children to analyze the work, brief conclusions from what they read. After all, this is what is most difficult for primary school students. Studying works, writing a summary in BH, the child also trains writing skills. The memory also trains, because by writing down the names of the main characters and the author, various dates, the content of the text, the child remembers them better. Among other things, parents, controlling the management of BH, can understand which genre is most interested in the child and what should be paid attention to. Now you should understand how to keep a reader diary.
Reader diary
In principle, a black hole is an ordinary notebook in which the student writes down his thoughts, some quotes from the work, a summary, the names of the author and the main characters. The simplest model is when the sheet is divided into two columns, in one of which they write the name of the work, in the other - their conclusions. However, this scheme is more understandable to the older generation, it is not suitable for kids. How to keep a reader diary for children? In principle, and there is nothing complicated. However, it will be difficult for the child to draw up such a model. Better to do this with your parents. So, take a simple student notebook (preferably not very thin) and draw it into several columns:
- date of reading the work;
- title;
- FULL NAME. the author;
- names of heroes;
- what is the work about.
By doing this regularly, the child consolidates the material he has read and in the future can easily answer any question about the work.

How to use
It is advisable to fill in the BH immediately after reading the work or the next day, having the text at hand to recall the most important points. From time to time, you need to view the completed pages to refresh your memory and consolidate the impression of the work. At the end of the black hole, a content page should be made where the names of the books read and the page number with their description will be entered. Thus, navigating in the black hole will be much easier.
