House Museum of the Bubnov family
The date of construction of this building is the 1860s. The project was typical for its time. Fortunately, the house-museum has been preserved to this day in its original form. The family of Andrei Sergeyevich Bubnov (a Bolshevik revolutionary, a prominent party and statesman, People's Commissar of Education of the RSFSR) got the house from V.V. Bubnova (native uncle S.E. Bubnova). The family lived here until the building was converted into communal apartments. This happened in the mid 40-ies of the last century.
Party veterans requested the preservation of the building as an architectural monument in the late 60s. The memorial house-museum was opened on November 4, 1978. Today it is one of the three houses with a mezzanine preserved in the city .
Museum of Industry and Art
Speaking about the museums of the city of Ivanovo, it is certainly worth mentioning the Museum of Industry and Art. D. G. Burylin, Ivanovo-Voznesensky philanthropist, manufacturer and citizen of the city of Ivanovo, created the collections collected here.
Book editions and coins - Burylin received this part of the collection from his grandfather. After, addicted to collecting antiques, Dmitry Gennadievich began to expand his stocks. Subsequently, he replenished the collection with a variety of things: porcelain, weapons, furniture, painting. To expand the collection, the philanthropist had to travel to Eastern and European countries, he also traveled to his native expanses.
The next item in our cultural program is the Ivanovo Art Museum. Its opening date is the 1960th year. The museum collection is represented by works from a private collection of D.G. Burylina. Meetings of the Karetnikov factory owners and General Ruzsky can also be found here. Today, the number of museum exhibits has exceeded 45 thousand.
House-museum of the Tsvetaev family
Our list of “Museums of Ivanovo” would not be complete without this institution. Beginning in 1853, three generations of this family lived here. After all its members died, there was a transfer of the house for private use. But in 1988, the state bought it in order to create a house museum. At the same time, they began to restore the building and collect exposition material. The opening date of the museum is May 18, 1995. It has become a tradition to hold annual Tsvetaev readings, literary evenings and much more.
