In addition to a huge number of storyline quests, there are many additional missions from different factions in Fallout 4. “Old Guns” is a small task, after which you can earn respect from the faction of minuten, as well as additional experience and replenishment of supplies of first-aid kits and cartridges. The full passage of the quest you will find in this review.
Where to get the quest?
As it usually happens in Fallout 4, the “Old Guns” can be opened in several ways, but you can only get the mission after capturing the castle in the “Assault Fort Independence” mission. Some time after stripping the object from the family of marshlands, Preston Garvey will contact the player. If this does not happen, then you should listen to the Radio Liberty. In one of the broadcasts, a note about the capture of the castle will sound, and the "survivor" will be invited to the meeting. A task will appear, and the player, in order to continue it, needs to make a short journey through the Fallout 4 wasteland.
Castle
We go to the destination. Inside we will find Ronnie Shaw, who will tell that once in the past she was one of the minutemans and served under the leadership of former General McGann. Now she wants to return to the ranks of the faction back, but Ronnie does not want to go there empty-handed. Then she will offer the hero to explore the old dungeons and arsenals of the castle, which we will do later in the game Fallout 4.
"The old guns." Walkthrough
First, Ronnie and I will go to the old door. Open it from this side will not work, so we are looking for an emergency entrance. We examine the castle with a woman and find the office of the commander in chief. This room has a hidden passage. To find it, go into construction mode and clear the blockage. Now you will find a way into the tunnels of the castle.
In these dungeons, which are a maze of rooms and corridors, devastation reigns: many rooms are littered with debris and dirt everywhere, but can such a picture frighten the researcher of Fallout 4? "Old Cannons" is a quest that will lead you through the tunnels of the castle, but be careful - mines-traps are installed here and there. If Ronnie Shaw is blown up on one of them, then she will not die, but will say that she sees poorly in the dark, and will ask the player to go ahead. Also in one of the rooms a turret is installed.

The exit from the catacombs is guarded by a robot sergeant, who will begin to attack the player as soon as he sees him. This quest boss is quite dangerous, and you will have to spend enough ammunition on it. It can be lured to a door in which the robot gets stuck. In this case, the player will be able to kill him quite easily and quickly. If this did not happen, then it is better to stock up with pulsed and explosive grenades. After all, this is the most difficult opponent in the mission Fallout 4 "Old Guns", the passage of which we are analyzing.
Western bastion
After defeating the sergeant, the player, along with Shaw, should go to the last room, in which the corpse and the personal terminal of the previous minuten general McGann are located. It is impossible to break the computer, but Ronnie knows the password from it, so the girl can easily crack the program that opens the door to the arsenal.
The armory of the castle is a real treasury. Here you will find a large number of different weapons and ammunition, which will be very useful when completing Fallout 4. Items that will be needed in the near future are a few smoke bombs lying on the table. Do not forget to take them before leaving the arsenal.
Now you need to talk to Ronnie. She will talk about the scheme of the gun, and also explain what materials you will need for it. Now take the instructions and go into construction mode. You can install the gun in any accessible place, and then appoint a settler on it.
Artillery testing
Now, to continue the quest in Fallout 4 "Old Guns", you need to check the work of the gun. Talk to Ronnie: the character will prompt you to tune in to the wave of Radio Liberty. Now throw the smoke bomb, which was mentioned earlier, into the firing zone. If the radio was turned on at that moment, the broadcast will be interrupted, and the Show will inform about the start of the shelling. After a couple of seconds, the bombing will begin, so the player should move away. When the cannonade is over, Shaw will talk about the success of the operation.

Sometimes it happens that the checker was thrown, but the shelling never started. Many players talk about such a bug. If this also happened to you, then try to move away from the castle, for example, to Andrew Station, and then return to your destination. This time, Ronnie will talk about completing this stage of the assignment. It remains only to return to the minutemans and talk with Preston Garvey, after which the quest in the game Fallout 4 "Old Guns" will be completed.
For completing this quest you will be awarded 372 experience points. You will also get the opportunity to buy a unique Gauss gun from Ronnie Shaw , causing increased damage to the enemy's limbs, as well as ammunition for it. But you can make such a purchase only after 10 in the morning. The player should also take into account that if he is at odds with the Institute, the quest to protect the base from synthetics will immediately begin.
