Bows, ruffles, ribbons and lace - the ideas for decorating women's accessories and items of clothing and shoes are endless. This hobby begins, as a rule, also in childhood, when mothers choose the cutest little dresses and hairpins for their beloved daughters, and girls, in turn, try the first designer steps on their dolls, inventing outfits for them and making them themselves from woven trimmings.
However, in the adult period, skills in sewing small decor items can be very useful, because it is so nice to give your friends hair clips and elastic bands made by yourself, as well as decorating your clothes and any items in the house. The basic option is, of course, a bow. Any lace, satin ribbons, strips of beautiful, preferably glossy fabric with a pattern will suit him. In addition, a do-it-yourself bow is a great way to pass the time and increase your aesthetic taste. There are many variations of it, as well as methods for its manufacture, so let's learn at least some of them together.
Lush version
So, a big bow with your own hands can be a great decoration for a gift box. For him, we take a long ribbon of artificial silk about 2-5 cm wide in any color, depending on the wishes. A bow made of soft
pastel color material with a small pattern like peas, flowers or funny animals will look very cute. Such decor is more suitable for girls, but it is better to decorate men's gifts with darker shades of fabric without a pattern.
To make a bow with our own hands from such a ribbon, we take some solid flat base 10-15 cm wide (this can be a fragment of kraegs or a hard envelope) and wind our ribbon in it in 8-10 rows so that its edges coincide with each other friend. As a result, you should get a sort of multilayer strip. We remove it from the base and in the middle, using a needle and thread, make a short horizontal seam, and then tighten it as much as possible and tie a knot. In fact, a

bow is almost ready. Now it remains only to spread all the layers in different directions until the shape of the ball. We fasten it to a gift box with glue or tie it to a piece of the same ribbon.
Elegant bow for a man's gift
If you want your surprise to look more elegant, we will make a satin bow with your own hands. This material is fragile, and if it is not carefully touched with a needle, it can be easily tightened. Therefore, for work we take thin silk threads and three types of satin ribbons: dark blue with a pattern, white 2.5-3 cm wide and one narrow, also blue, 0.5 cm wide. This bow is suitable for decorating a man’s gift, hair clip or dresses, if a pin is attached to its back. So, first we fold the white ribbon in three layers, as we did in the previous method, also sew in the middle, tighten and carefully straighten up and down, the bow should be flat, 10 cm long. Then, from the blue wide satin, cut two strips 16 and 12 long cm, and from the thin - two identical (20-25 cm). Both wide ribbons need to be turned into single-layer flat bows. To do this, we sew the ends, stitch in the middle and, in turn, attach to the blue. And to hide the seams, we add a neat bow from a thin ribbon to the center and attach a button or rhinestone.
