Space, stars, planets, no doubt, attract many adults and children. Someone thinks that perhaps somewhere among the vast expanses there are worlds with sentient beings, and someone is simply fascinated by the radiance of distant celestial bodies, which probably have not existed for a long time, and the light from them still reaches Of the earth.
A great opportunity to view the sky as it is seen only by scientists through telescopes is a specially equipped planetarium. One of these institutions is in Perm on Gagarin Boulevard, 27a.
What is a planetarium?
The planetarium in Perm combines a scientific and educational function and entertainment. First of all, the audience of such institutions is students of secondary schools.
It is equipped quite complicated. This is about three dozen projectors that accurately transmit all the celestial objects on the dome-sky. In this case, the exact ratio of the size and brightness of the images and real stars is observed.
Additional projectors create panoramic views of individual celestial bodies. For example, the moon or Mars. In addition, a demonstration of such events as a starfall, solar and lunar eclipse, and northern lights is possible.
At the same time, thanks to the built-in electric drive, the movement of the heavenly vault is simulated. Individual projectors create anchor points to help you navigate the dome. These are the meridian, equator, poles. Thus, the maximum effect of full presence is achieved.
Planetarium, Perm: a bit of history
For the first time, I thought of presenting to the general public the sky in this form in 1913, Professor Wolf, who was the director of the Heidelberg Observatory. Even two projectors were assembled to demonstrate our solar system. But the creation of the first full planetarium was prevented by the outbreak of war. Only a decade later, they returned to this project at an optical factory in Germany, and a couple of years later the invention was improved. The panorama has become more detailed and recorded different latitudes.
The first planetarium in Russia was Moscow. He opened his doors to visitors in 1929. The planetarium in Perm began its history in 1960. Initially, it was the simplest building, which occupied one of the halls of the museum of local lore. At one time he could receive no more than fifty visitors.
A year later, the Perm planetarium became quite popular due to the fact that specially invited lecturers, including metropolitan ones, did a great job. He found a new building in 1968.
Perm planetarium today
At the same time 140 people can attend the program. With a certain periodicity, repair work is carried out. In 2008, the building was modernized.
To date, the planetarium has acquired new equipment, including digital. Projectors began to more accurately display the location and brightness of celestial bodies. A modern CORONADO telescope was purchased, a special viewing platform was equipped, where a powerful binocular telescope is now installed. Thanks to this, the capabilities of the Perm planetarium were greatly expanded, photos of celestial bodies made thanks to the available equipment are published by well-known publications.
Cognitive programs
Extensive programs have been developed for adults and children in the planetarium. This is more than one and a half hundred thematic lectures with visual demonstration, designed for a specific audience.
There is a poster for upcoming events on the planetarium's official website, where when choosing a program you can be guided by the age categories indicated for each of the lectures. In addition, the building often becomes the venue for children's performances, festivals and various exhibitions. The planetarium has become a wonderful place of leisure for citizens and visitors.
