Reinforcement A3 is called a special hot-rolled steel of circular cross section with a periodic profile, designed for better adhesion to concrete. Such a rod is manufactured in compliance with the standards prescribed by GOST T5781-82.
general description
The main distinguishing feature of A3 fittings is that on its surface there are two longitudinal ribs, between which there are corrugations in the form of a βherringboneβ (on the one hand the left screw, on the other - the right). There is also a special-purpose A3 rod. The corrugations of this option can go in one direction.
The diameter of the reinforcement A3 may have a different (6-40 mm). Thin rods (up to 10 mm) are supplied both in the form of chopped rods and in coils. Thick products - only in the rods. The length of the latter in both cases may be 6-12 m.
What is made of
The reinforcement A3 can be made of steel:
carbon of usual quality (st.3ps, st.3sp);
low alloyed (35GS, 25G2S).
35GS steel has a short-term strength of 590 MPa, a relative elongation at break of 14% and a yield strength of 390 MPa. For material 25G2S, these characteristics are the same according to GOST 5781-82 and equal to 980 MPa, 7% and 785MPa, respectively, according to GOST 10884-71. The steel used for the manufacture of A3 reinforcement may incorporate elements such as boron, manganese and magnesium.
Scope of use
The scope of A3 fittings is quite wide. Use this rod:
in the construction of bridges and other loaded structures;
paving;
the construction of underground engineering systems, tunnels for trains, subway;
devices of various kinds of metal structures in moist soil;
in the construction of civil and military installations in areas with harsh climates.
Material cost
Of course, the first thing you pay attention to when buying rods is their price. Fittings A3 in general are not too expensive. The price of it depends mainly on two factors: diameter and manufacturer. Wholesale suppliers usually indicate the cost of this material in tons. The price of A3 fittings sold at retail is determined for one running meter. Below we present to your attention a table with prices for the most common options for such a bar.
Diameter (mm) | Length (m) | Price for payroll (rubles) | The approximate cost of one ton (rubles) |
6 | 6 | 6 | 29,000 |
8 | 10-12 | 29,500 |
10 | 11.7 | 17-18 | 28,500 |
12 | 24-25 | 28,000 |
18 | 44-54 | 27,000 |
25 | 90-100 | 2700-2800 |
32 | 150 |
40 | 250-270 |
What makes up the cost of valves A3
The approximate prices for an A3 carbon steel bar are given above. In some cases, its cost may be different. The price of A3 fittings depends mainly on the following factors:
Grades used for the manufacture of steel. Valves made of low alloy steel are more expensive than products from st.3ps and st.3sp. But at the same time, it is distinguished by the best operational characteristics.
Rebar diameter. With a decrease in this indicator, the price of A3 rods increases. In this case, for the most popular diameters (for example, 12 mm), a deficit may occur from time to time. In this case, the price of the bar, of course, rises.
Season sale. The A3 fittings are most expensive in the spring - in April-May, that is, when the construction season begins. The maximum discount for these products can be obtained in December.
Volume of purchases. When ordering a very large wholesale batch of the enterprise, manufacturers and suppliers can give the buyer a good discount. At retail, fittings, of course, are slightly more expensive.
Places of purchase. At dealers, a ton of reinforcement will cost, of course, a little more expensive than directly from the manufacturer.
Measured reinforcement (with adjustable length parameters) is more expensive than unmeasured.
What to look for when buying
Consumers of this product are looking for it primarily by labeling. For example, someone needs 12 A3 fittings. This means that a person wants to purchase a variant of the A3 bar with a diameter of 12 mm. Products manufactured with strict observance of all GOST standards must be marked according to certain rules. In the first place, the diameter of the sold bar in millimeters is indicated. Next is an indication of the actual class of the product (in our case, A3). Then the reinforcement number is entered in the international classification (A400 for carbon steel or A500 for low alloy). And lastly, GOST is indicated, according to which the reinforcement was produced (5781-82).
For example, the same bar with a diameter of 12 mm from low alloy steel will be marked as follows: 12-A-III (A500) GOST5781-82. According to the standards, there should not be any additional letters and numbers in the marking of valves A3.
What else to know
The final price of the purchased fittings sometimes also depends on the cost of the additional services provided by the supplier. This could be, for example:
Large batches of sold fittings, as a rule, can be sent to any regions of the country. Small sellers deliver to this particular city or region.
When buying material, among other things, you should ask the seller for a certificate. A3 fittings must have characteristics that exactly meet the requirements of GOST.
Performance characteristics
The popularity of A3 reinforcement among builders is due primarily to the fact that its use allows the construction of the most durable and durable reinforced concrete structures. In addition to the A3 rod, the A1 industry is produced by modern industry. Such reinforcement is not corrugated. And therefore, its degree of adhesion to concrete is lower. Reinforcement A3 and A1 are most often used in the construction of various kinds of reinforced concrete structures. In this case, option A1 is usually used in the construction of various kinds of auxiliary elements, and A3 - loaded. For example, it is the latter option that is advisable to use when pouring the foundations of buildings. In addition to a high degree of adhesion to concrete, A3 reinforcement has some other advantages.
Since the crescent and transverse ribs of such rods do not intersect, the material at high strength is also characterized by ductility.
The A3 fittings, whose characteristics are simply excellent, can be operated under almost any conditions. This bar does not lose its strength even at a temperature of -55 degrees.
The carbon steel A3 variant is easy to weld. Under certain circumstances, A3 rods made of low alloy steel can also be connected in this way.
GOST Standards
When manufacturing valves A3, the following requirements of GOST must be observed:
The curvature of the rods should not exceed 0.6% of the measured length.
There should be no cracks, rolling captures or sunsets on the surface of the ribs of the rods.
For the manufacture of the bar, carbon steel must be used that meets the standards of GOST 380. The necessary characteristics of low alloy steel are determined by special tables.
For steel bar A400 25G2S, a decrease in the index of temporary resistance to 560 MPa is allowed.
GOST packing
The procedure for this procedure is also regulated by GOST. A3 fittings are packed in compliance with the following standards:
the mass of bundles of reinforcing rods should not exceed 15 tons;
fasten ligaments only with wire or wire rod;
at the request of the customer, the rods can be packed in bundles of 3 tons or 5 tons;
each ligament must be labeled with an indication of class A3.
Transportation rules
Armature A3 can be transported both by road and rail. When carrying out loading and unloading operations, it is required to ensure that the product is not for any reason deformed or destroyed.
Store fittings A3 in warehouses with normal or low humidity. It is forbidden to store it directly on the ground with regulations. The fittings should be stored in bundles on wooden pallets or shelves. When laying, make sure that no parts of the material sag.
