Beautiful parks in the center of Moscow delight metropolitan residents and visitors at any time of the year. These are favorite places for recreation, walks, dates and socializing in the fresh air. Moscow has countless park areas. But the squares in the city center deserve special attention.
Zaryadye Park - an exclusive project
In 2017, Muscovites expect the opening of a new park, which will be timed to coincide with the day of the city. The idea of the creators of the park is striking in its breadth: on a vast territory of 12 hectares, 4 landscape zones that are available in Russia will be represented: tundra, steppe, forest and swamps. In each zone, the characteristic temperature will be artificially maintained, so do not be surprised if it is hot in the square in winter and cold in summer. The park will give the townspeople a unique opportunity: they can, without leaving their hometown, get acquainted with the diversity of nature in immense Russia. After all, the zones will differ not only in temperature and landscape, but also in the representatives of the animal world. Each sector will have a small zoo.
Project Scope

It is expected that a philharmonic society will be located on the territory of the park, which in quality of acoustics will far surpass the most famous world analogues. In the hall under the huge dome of the Philharmonic Hall 1,5 thousand people can simultaneously accommodate. Here, a 70-meter soaring bridge will be built over the Moskva River. It will become a magnificent viewing platform, one of the best in the city, with which visitors to the park will be able to fully examine the center of the capital, the Kremlin and its environs. The future territory of the park, in the past a wasteland on the site of the demolished hotel "Russia", is now in a state of reconstruction. Periodically, archaeological finds are discovered here, which will then be displayed for visitors to the park. And ancient temples, also located on this territory, are being restored. To visit the park will be open around the clock. Thematic venues will entertain both adults and children. It is planned that this place will be visited annually by about 12 million people. An exclusive square promises to be a unique place and the best not only in Moscow, but also in the world. There are other equally interesting parks in the center of Moscow. The list will continue the famous and picturesque place of rest.
Alexander Garden

Starting from the day of its foundation, the Alexander Garden is a favorite place for walks by Muscovites. It was created by order of Emperor Alexander I as part of a plan to restore Moscow after the fire of 1812. The original name of the garden is the Kremlin because it is located near one of the walls of the Kremlin. A little later it was renamed. The garden owes its modern name to Alexander I. The area of the garden is about 10 hectares, divided into three parts: Upper, Middle and Lower Gardens. The Upper Garden covers the territory from the Arsenal Tower of the Kremlin to Trinity, which serves as a tourist entrance to the Kremlin. This way is also used by spectators hurrying to attend performances in the State Kremlin Palace. This place cannot be called quiet: there are many visitors. The Upper Garden is located slightly below the surrounding streets and is separated from city noise by Manezhnaya Square structures. All this, along with greenery and grooming, creates a special atmosphere and attracts citizens and guests of the capital here. The garden is surrounded by a wrought iron fence, and on the front gate at the main entrance flaunts symbolism to commemorate the victory over Napoleon.
Gorky Park
Residents and guests of the city who want to relax from the rhythm of life of a large metropolis are always ready to accept Gorky Park. This is a park with a beach in the center of Moscow - the best place for walking with children. Founded in 1928, it still attracts citizens and gives them a wonderful holiday and a pleasant experience. Here you can enjoy sitting on the green grass, go rollerblading or biking, have a picnic, read and sunbathe. The park is always interesting - both in summer and in winter. The park is open for visitors 24 hours a day, and admission is free. Everything is provided here for the convenience of visitors: a parking lot, a first-aid post, a mother and child’s room, as well as paths for cyclists and playgrounds. Throughout the park you can use free Wi-Fi Internet access - to the delight of those who like to work and chat on social networks while in nature. Sockets are also provided free of charge.
Interesting places in the park
The attraction of the park is a museum dedicated to its history. It is located right inside the gate, which is the historic main entrance to the square. This is a grandiose structure 18 meters high. After its restoration in 2015, the building is open to visitors. Today the museum is ready to accept everyone, but its visit is paid. At an 18-meter height, an observation deck is equipped at the main entrance, from where the whole park is visible and offers stunning views of the capital. On the roof of the building there are binoculars with which visitors to the museum can view the opening panorama in full detail.
Park "Museon"

In the Muzeon art park, along with the usual park entertainments, one can find real works of art - many sculptures are located here, right under the open sky. This makes the park unique not only within the city, but throughout the country. The park occupies more than 23 hectares and stretches along the Crimean embankment. Visitors are amazed at the variety of sculptures that the Museon housed. Here are collected creations of different eras and styles, ranging from monumental works of the 30s of the last century and monuments of the era of socialist realism to the works of modern avant-garde artists. In the park you can find a monument to Lenin, as well as the most unusual sculptures of our time and the era of the Soviet Union. In total, the park has more than 800 sculptures! The Museum is not an ordinary museum: its exhibits are not hidden under glass and are not surrounded by fences, there are no strict rangers. “Museon” is undoubtedly the winner in the category called “Parks in the center of Moscow where you can take a walk”. Walking around the square, you will see sculptures placed along the alleys or directly on the lawn. Therefore, you can safely approach them, touch, take pictures, you can even sit next to or lie down. A visit to the Museon is a great opportunity to literally touch the beautiful.
Hermitage Garden

Parks in the center of Moscow, where you can stay closer to nature, are attracting more and more attention. The Hermitage Garden is a favorite resting place for both Muscovites themselves and city guests. Of the many Moscow parks, citizens choose it and come to Karetny Ryad Street. And this is despite the fact that many other parks are ready to offer more interesting, varied entertainment and services. Why is the Hermitage garden so attractive? In it you can relax from the bustle of the city, noise and exhaust gases, breathe fresh air, and take a leisurely stroll along the park alleys. Residents of a huge city can enjoy the silence and harmony of nature, listen to themselves, to their thoughts and feelings. In addition, the Hermitage Garden regularly organizes all kinds of cultural events, and there are three theaters on its territory. Only a hundred years ago there was an ordinary wasteland at this place, but today the garden pleases the eye with greenery - this is a real oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle.
Culture Park "Krasnaya Presnya"
Parks in the center of Moscow near the metro are not uncommon. Krasnaya Presnya is a square surrounded by modern skyscrapers in the heart of the capital. A magnificent monument of landscape art is open to the public every day. Here you can stroll along the picturesque alleys and see the unique canals with beautiful bridges, on which the foot of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin himself stepped. Having been in the park, you can not only relax, but also feel the breath of history, which is literally saturated with everything here.
A bit of history
In the XVIII century, there was the estate of the princes Gagarin, named after the nearby Studenets stream, in which water was famous for its healing properties. The Gagarins built a well in which everyone could quench their thirst. In the 19th century, the new owner of the palace, Arseny Zakrevsky, reconstructed the surrounding area. Under the leadership of Domenico Gilardi, a brilliant architect and innovator of his time, the estate acquired a new face and looked, according to contemporaries, like “absolute Venice in the gardens”. In the Soviet period, unfortunately, the estate lost its original appearance, some sculptures and gardens were irretrievably lost. Today, work is underway to restore its former splendor, and this is certainly a long and painstaking process. Today, Krasnaya Presnya Park is a wonderful modern leisure venue. A lot of new and interesting things await its visitors, there is entertainment for every taste: concerts, creative meetings, events for children and festivals are held in the park, an open-air cinema is open.
Moscow parks in the city center welcome travelers at any time of the year.
