Many well-known authors did not immediately realize that they had a talent for creating literary works, and therefore they devoted a significant part of their life to a cause not related to creativity. For example, the well-known Anton Pavlovich Chekhov first received a medical education. Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin, despite writing poetry from childhood, planned to become a teacher. Herbert George Wells had a Ph.D. in biology and taught exact sciences.
Like the above authors, the writer Dmitry Sillov, before releasing his first book, conducted activities that had little to do with writing. At the moment, several dozen books have been published under his name. These include the work "The Law of the Mercenary."
Biography
The future author was born on February 4, 1970 in the city of Mary in southern Turkmenistan. Dmitry Olegovich's father was a military man, and after graduating from school, Sillov, following his example, served in the airborne troops.
Having retired to the reserve, Sillov received a medical education, went in for martial arts, and began to study psychology and oriental culture. After some time, he became an instructor in hand-to-hand combat, and later created an author's self-defense system called "Real Street Fight" and decided to open his own sports club, named after this system.
In 2000, Sillov’s pamphlet, “Want to Survive?” Was published, and from that moment the writer's career began. In subsequent years, several books on hand-to-hand combat were written. The first artwork, The Yakuza Branch, was released in 2005.
In 2010-2011, Sillov began writing books for the STALKER series, releasing the novels The Law of the Tagged, The Law of the Mercenary, and The Law of the Sniper. The last of them became one of the most popular works of the writer.

The novel was released by AST in 2011.
The book "The Law of the Mercenary" takes place a year after the events that took place in the "Law of the Tagged." Victor Savelyev, nicknamed Japanese, has to survive a terrible assassination attempt on his family, after which only he remains alive.
In addition to the Japanese, the reader will meet other characters familiar from previous books: Sniper, Marked, Scar, Major Degtyarev and others. These legendary stalkers were once chosen by the Zone itself, and now they must meet again and together fulfill their mission. The purpose of this mission is unknown, but not so important, because in the new world there is only one law: whoever owns the Zone will command the whole world.
The Mercenary Law is the third novel in the Sniper series. The series includes 3 more books: “The Law of the Sniper”, “The Law of the Tagged” and “The Law of Degtyarev”.
Other works by Sillov
In addition to the "Law of the Mercenary," the author created other novels. Some of them are combined into cycles (The Kremlin 2222, a trilogy about Viktor Savelyev), and some are separate works.
Dmitry Sillov also wrote a continuation of the Strugatsky’s novel “Roadside Picnic”, receiving personal permission from one of the brothers. “A picnic on the sidelines-2. Happiness for all ”tells about the life of Redrick Shechart after returning from the Zone.
