Do you like to craft and craft a variety of souvenirs and gifts? Looking for new opportunities? Try to make the same souvenir as in the next photo. This is not difficult. The pattern of the casket is taken ready from the template or is built by analogy independently. In the first case, itβs enough for you to circle the diagram on cardboard and fabric, cut out the details and put together the finished thing. The second method will take a little longer, but this way you will create an exclusive author's item.
How to execute a template
If you have ever come across a pattern of a box made of plywood, or rather, a drawing of its individual parts, then you should know that for cardboard you can use the same blank. You have two options:
- Choose your favorite template and print it in the desired scale.
- Perform the drawing yourself, developing your own design or using the sample.
In both cases, you need to know the dimensions of the finished product that you are going to create.
What materials and tools are needed
So that you get the correct pattern of the casket and a high-quality, neat product in the future, prepare the following:
- cardboard;
- scissors;
- paper;
- pencil;
- a ruler;
- eraser;
- a rod with a pointed end (knitting needle, toothpick) to perform clear, even folds on cardboard;
- fabric for decoration and filler (if necessary);
- glue;
- threads, if the product will consist of individual elements;
- decor (beads, beads, satin ribbons, flowers, sequins, butterflies, etc.)
As you see, nothing unusual will be needed either for making a pattern or for making a souvenir itself.
Cardboard box
Patterns, sweeps, patterns, blanks of such products can be very diverse, but there are two options for creating:
- The manufacture of a volumetric product from a flat pattern cut out of paper by bending elements in appropriate places.
- Stitching the individual parts forming a three-dimensional object.
In the first method, you will definitely need to first draw guides with a pointed object along the fold lines. This will allow in the future to gently and without jamming bend a thick cardboard in the form of a straight line. At the same time, you need to provide for bonding places if you are building the circuit yourself.
The second method involves stitching the parts, so you will not need allowances for gluing, but you will need to make holes around the perimeter of each part at a small distance from the edge of the element. It is better to use an awl and prepare a preliminary marking of the holes so that they are at the same distance relative to each other and from the edge too. Stitching can be done either with a needle or by crocheting the joined parts.
Fabric box pattern
If you do not have a beautiful decorative cardboard, but a lot of bright scraps, you can easily create your own unique box design. It is worth pasting the elements with fabric before assembly. To build a pattern for fabric parts, you need to use a template for a cardboard base and add allowances for bending the material from the front to the wrong side. To prevent these allowances from being visible inside the casket, it makes sense to stick an additional layer, for example, of beautiful paper, on the inside of the cardboard blank after tightening the cardboard blank.
Variety of options
The first illustration of this section presents the pattern of the box and its appearance in volume. This pattern can be used for cardboard, fabric or postcards. At the same time, the lower part can be made of a single sheet with fold lines in the places indicated by the dotted line, and be sewn from separate elements. In the second case, gluing allowances must be removed.
The product cover is easiest to perform by the method proposed in the diagram, cutting out a part similar to the bottom in shape and size and gluing it to the base on a strip of cardboard. The second method is more time-consuming, but the box cover will turn out to be presentable. The scheme is taken the same as for the base, only on a slightly enlarged scale, because the finished product should be easily worn on the bottom. To understand how much you should increase the size, it is enough to measure the thickness of the cardboard and take its doubled size.
The following image also shows a pattern of a pentagonal cardboard box, which may well be decorated with fabric. Here the lid is one with the bottom, which is convenient. If you will also make a blank from the fabric for this pattern, do not forget to add allowances for bending the material inside, where they are not on the template (it was originally intended for the assembly of cardboard products).
If you want to make a cube-shaped box, use the following blank. By the way, this option is perfect for creating a box of postcards (a photo of the finished sample is in the next section).
If you prefer the rectangular option, then take the next pattern-blank. Print the template in a size suitable for you, cut the shape along the contour and bend in the appropriate places. Glue where required. Your casket, consisting of a base and a lid, is ready!
So, you saw several variants of schemes for caskets, according to which it is easy to make products of different shapes and designs. Each drawing can become a model for the development of your individual design.
Original products from available material
By analogy with a cardboard one can easily make a pattern of a box from postcards with one's own hands. Unnecessary color cards are simply taken as the base material. In this case, the details of the product are cut separately, and instead of performing bending lines, the elements are sewn together with threads through previously created holes along the contour of each part.
So, you saw how simple the casket pattern is. By choosing one template, you can do different design options. Everyone will receive an exclusive copyright item of their own performance.
