Paradoxically, we are starting to age from the moment we are born. First we call this process growth, then - growing up. The concept of age is associated with periods of human life. And then the time comes when we understand that old age is already very close. The first impulse is resistance, an irrepressible desire to stop this process. Even understanding the inevitability of old age, people are still feverishly seeking a magical cure for it.
One wise man said: “Let's not start shortening our life for a start, and only then we will start looking for how to lengthen it.” It was this rule that the healers of the East were guided in their activities. People do not have the opportunity not to age, but aging is beautiful for them. Indeed, old age does not mean decrepit age.
Gerontologists say that aging did not include senility and age-related diseases. And if a person lived in accordance with the laws of nature, then he would survive to two hundred years. In this case, an elderly person could perform his main functions in the usual way. This is the case in the wild. Animals until their death are able to feed themselves and reproduce offspring, moreover, their appearance is not subject to senile deformities.
Why is it wrong with us?
Science has identified two types of aging: physiological and pathological. The first type has been described above. But pathological aging is caused by diseases - which we see around. But you can fight it! A person does not even imagine what a hidden reserve he has. Basically, we don’t know our body and are treating it badly, for which we are paying for decrepitude and premature death.
Three factors affect the rate of aging:
1. Human genes. Information we receive from our ancestors
2. Social conditions. The level of development of society greatly affects life expectancy. In countries with a high level of development, the lifestyle of the elderly practically does not differ from the style typical of middle-aged people. Old age is not a hindrance for an active lifestyle. On the contrary, it is an opportunity to do things for which there was no time before. It's time to do what you want! You can travel, attend concerts, exhibitions, learn a new craft, etc.
3. The lifestyle of each of us. This factor, although the last on the list, is far from the last in importance. People who eat right, lead an active lifestyle, are cheerful and cheerful, look better and live longer than others.
Of course, one cannot completely ignore the genetic factor. But basically the potential in us is about the same. And the rest get what they deserve.
Bad habits and tendencies cause early aging: overeating (overweight), junk food (high cholesterol in the blood), alcohol consumption, smoking, etc. If we exclude them from our lives, the aging process will take place according to a given program, and we will meet old age without heart attacks, without diseases of the organs of motion, without senile dementia.
Thanks to modern methods that allow determining the biological age of various human organs, it has been revealed that senile diseases have significantly “rejuvenated”. This primarily relates to the cardiovascular system. Often forty-year-olds have the heart of a seventy-year-old man. Such is the reckoning for the insane pace of modern life, for staying in constant tension and stress.
Old age is neither a diagnosis nor a disease. If you want to remain active for many years, analyze your life. Get rid of addictions that destroy your body. Do physical exercises that not only strengthen your body, but also temper your spirit.
