Since the time when humanity was born on our planet, its history began. However, in general, this science cannot be talked about, since initially all people were divided into tribes that lived in completely different regions of the world. Someone was honored to live on the shores of the oceans, on the islands, others fought the cold in the tundra, others were in the sultry deserts ... It is thanks to this trend that the historical and cultural regions of the world were formed. Therefore, we will now examine in detail the features of the brightest of them.
What are these regions like?
Historical, cultural areas of the world are certain areas of our planet in which humanity originated and developed. They are distinguished by a separate, individual path of development, which largely depended on the climate and natural conditions. Similarly, historical and cultural areas differ from each other in architectural monuments, traditions, religious rites and faith, etc. In addition, significant differences are observed in the types of farming. An interesting fact is that those borders that have had historical and cultural areas of the world since its inception have survived to this day without particularly significant changes.
Division type
Speaking quite generally, we can count only four historical areas in our world: Eurasia, America, Africa and Australia. However, within each of them there are many provinces, the life and culture of which have their own individual, unlike any other color. In addition, the historical and cultural areas of the world are also characterized by ethnic categories. In each of these areas there are people whose races and types are not similar to each other. Thanks to this, we can distinguish, say, a resident of Beijing from a native of California, not only by language and clothing, but also by external data. Below is a list of the most important cultural provinces that originated in time immemorial and still exist today.
Europe in all its glory
Paradoxically, the part of the world called Europe is the smallest on our planet, and at the same time, its cultural heritage is one of the richest, along with Asian or African. The historical and cultural areas of these lands became the main for the further development of traditions in America, and also influenced the Australian continent and even most of Russia. Countries that are within this cultural and ethnic area are small in size, but each of them differs from the previous one, has its own language, history, traditions and beliefs. Well, briefly consider each of the areas that will cover several states.
Historical and Cultural Area Western Europe
There are disputes about which countries are now included in this area. Someone includes France, Andorra, Germany, Monaco, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Others stretch this region from the UK to Spain. In the historical sense, one single area can be distinguished - the West-Central-European zone, which is identical in language group and in everyday life. Here live Caucasians who speak Indo-European Germanic and Romance languages, as well as Celtic, Finno-Ugric, Greek and Albanian. Type of economy - plow farming. Moreover, today, most of the population lives in cities. The type of construction of houses in the whole history of Europe has not changed: in the north - log houses, in the center - frame, in the south - stone and brick. The food is dominated by flour-based dishes, as well as meat, various wines and hot drinks (mainly tea). Throughout Europe, a single religion is Christianity, which is represented in the form of Catholicism and Protestantism.

Province Eastern Europe
Various other historical and cultural regions of Eurasia adjoin one of the largest in its territory and diverse in its traditions regions. We are talking about the East European province, which stretches from west to east from Poland to the Ural Mountains, and from north to south - from the Arctic Ocean to the Caucasus. Many ethnic groups live here, among which there are Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Caucasians, Udmurts, Tatars, Chuvashs, Karelians, Estonians and many others. Settlement plow farming is common in this area. Houses are built of stone, after which they are mainly coated with clay and whitened. A characteristic feature of any home is a stove. Traditional food for this cultural area is soups (hot in the north, cold in the south), pancakes, pies, cereals, as well as drinks - kvass and tea. The Eastern European province is characterized by the Orthodox religion, however, in some southern and Asian regions, many people are Muslims.
middle Asia
This territory is a mixture of the Caucasian and Mongoloid races. It stretches from the Caspian Sea to the east and covers both the desert plains and the very high mountains of the Pamirs and Tien Shan. Kyrgyz, Tajiks and Kazakhs live in this area. The type of housing is different, depending on the climate. In the south - clay houses with flat roofs, in the north - yurts. Among the drinks, tea, ayran, koumiss were and remain popular. Also, Central Asia gave the world a special dish - pilaf, which is traditional for them. Religions are also mixed here - Orthodox, Muslims, and Buddhists live on these lands.
Far East
In general, the historical and cultural regions of the world are difficult to imagine without the Far Eastern region. Here live representatives of the Mongoloid race of the Pacific type, which belong to the Sino-Tibetan family, Japanese and Korean. Initially, a type of economy was formed - manual irrigation, later trade, light industry, and transport began to develop. Dwellings in the region are built primarily on a pile basis, filling the walls with bricks, clay or similar materials. In religious terms, syncretism has long been established here. There are many currents characteristic of different regions, which are similar to each other, but at the same time have many distinct nuances.
Historical and Cultural Areas of Australia
The smallest continent in the world is usually divided into two parts - these are the Anglo-Australian and Aboriginal-Australian regions. The first of them is characterized by its European charter of life. These lands were conquered mainly by the British, therefore, since ancient times, large cities have been growing here, industry is developing in them. The society establishes moral stereotypes characteristic of the British. In the suburbs of the Anglo-Australian region, grain farming and sheep husbandry are highly developed. The native Australian region is much smaller in size. Here live the indigenous people of this continent, who are the personification of this australoid race. There are no large cities, industry is also absent. On these lands, traditions and life that were characteristic of the local people before the arrival of Europeans are preserved.
