The hygienic certificate is a document prescribed by law. It indicates that the type of activity, product or technical specifications (TU) comply with existing sanitary rules and hygienic standards. It is issued by the sanitary and epidemiological surveillance institutions upon completion of the examination of technical specifications, product, and production conditions. A sanitary certificate can be obtained only after testing and providing a certain package of documents. Currently, there are three types of this document: for the type of activity (catering, trade, etc.), for products, for technical specifications.

A hygienic certificate must be obtained without fail. If the object (process) is not included in the list determined by the regulatory act of the state, it can be obtained voluntarily. In the second case, the motivation for applying for this document is the desire to provide competitive advantages in comparison with similar goods and services. True, today the line between the obligatory nomenclature and ordinary products in certain positions is not quite clear. One thing is safe to say: all goods that people come into contact with at home, as well as food products must have a hygienic certificate. In addition, there are things whose examination can only be carried out by federal structures (dietary supplements, household chemicals in the form of aerosols, medical products, etc.).
You can get a hygiene certificate for a period of 1 month. up to 5 years, the duration depends on several factors: production conditions, type of product, information in the submitted documents, position of the person considering the application. The examination is carried out in respect of products manufactured in the Russian Federation (new products or when certain manufacturing conditions are changed) imported from abroad, as well as one whose term of the previously issued opinion has expired.
A hygienic certificate is issued after the procedure, which includes the submission of an application for registration, the establishment of the scope of examination,
conclusion of an agreement, analysis of documents, the implementation of instrumental and laboratory tests, decision making, the issuance of an opinion and its entry in the Register. The lists of official papers provided for the examination of domestic and imported goods differ. Among them are the charter, certificates of registration, registration,
regulations, technical instructions,
inspection certificates
, certificates for materials and raw materials, a passport for goods, lease agreements, a supply contract, etc. For foreign products, all documents of the manufacturer (supplier) must have a Russian translation certified in the prescribed manner.
Examination of facilities with the study of production conditions takes place on a voluntary basis, if requested by the applicant. Its result is a certificate for all manufactured products. The lists of documents provided by the applicant may be supplemented and clarified in relation to specific products or organizations manufacturing them. On the territory of our country, the inspection is carried out by specialists of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Russian Federation.
