Among the huge list of additional equipment that is produced for walk-behind tractors, mowers occupy an important place. They are divided into two large types: disk and segment. Mowers for motoblocks have their strengths and weaknesses.
If we talk about the disk version, then the most common "Dawn" from the enterprise
"Kaluga Engine". The Chinese produce mowers for RM-1 motor-blocks, which are surprisingly reliable, moreover, they differ in quite reasonable cost.
All these varieties are perfect for processing slopes whose steepness does not exceed 20 degrees. They will easily remove not only the stubble from the grain, but even a small shrub.
Note that the value of the lateral inclination cannot exceed 8 degrees. The pronounced advantage of these devices is high security. Rotary mowers for walk-behind tractors can stack the mowed grass in neat rolls, which greatly facilitates the further process of its processing. We should not forget about the reliability of these devices, which significantly exceeds the performance of segment models.
All their varieties from domestic manufacturers are suitable for Russian walk-behind tractors. If you are the owner of the Salute motoblock, you will have to look for special models for your equipment. Note that disc mowers for motoblocks are extremely sensitive to stones that have fallen on their way, so you should first examine the surface of the field through which they will pass.
The Zarya 1 model is especially good. It can be used for mowing grass (working height from three centimeters). It does not have a belt drive, which greatly facilitates repair and maintenance. In addition, this model greatly simplifies work on bumps.
There is a mower with drums for pushing the mowed mass. This allows its use in heavily overgrown areas where the height of the mowed grass exceeds a meter. Such a rotary mower for a walk-behind tractor will become a real find for owners of remote and difficult to process plots.
No less common are segmented models. Often you can find KM-0.5 mowers from the Mobil enterprise and KNS-0.8 Stryzh mills, which are produced in Moscow. They can also be used with almost all domestic walk-behind tractors.
Their principle of operation is based on the translational-reciprocal type of movement of the cutting surface. They are much more complicated than rotary ones. They have many advantages. So, due to the lateral movement of the knives of the device, these practically do not crush the grass, which often happens when the first type of mower is described above.
In addition, the knives pass at a minimum distance from the ground, so that losses in mowing feed due to high stubble are a thing of the past.
In any segment type model, the position of the knives can be adjusted +/- 20 degrees from the horizontal, which makes it possible to process even very uneven sections. The complexity of the mechanism has a positive side: such a mower for the Zarya motor-block can be urgently disconnected from it, since it does not have a direct connection with the drive.
