The quest "Citadel: Khanar Diplomat" is a side mission of the game Mass Effect 3. And its passage is not considered mandatory. But if you want to get the maximum advantage in the final battle, then you must definitely complete this task. This will be discussed in the article.
How to launch the mission "Mass Effect 3. Citadel: Khanar-diplomat"
This quest will become available when your hero rescues a Turian primarch on the planet Menai. Shepard will receive a message to the terminal from Yondum Bau - the Salarian Spectrum. In it, the character will ask for a personal meeting to share important information about one of the priests' agents.
After activating the mission "Citadel: Khanar-diplomat", go to the space station. You will meet a Salarian in the corridor of the Embassies, near the doors of the Spectra office, opposite the entrance to the office of Advisor Undina. Keep in mind that you need to find Yondum Bau before the quest “Curing the Genophagus”. Otherwise, after the attack of the Cerberus troops on the space station, the quest will become unavailable.
Passing the mission Mass Effect 3 "Citadel: Khanar-diplomat"
When meeting with the captain, the Salarian will tell you that after the capture of the Batarian laboratory one of the operatives-khanars disappeared. And the spectrum has suspicions that the disappeared was drugged by the Reapers. Now this khanar is part of the diplomatic mission on the Citadel. And in order to identify and arrest the traitor, the Salarian needs the help of the protagonist.
To get started, head to the Spectra office and allow me to receive information about all recently arrived diplomats at the Citadel. The traitor hides his location, and in order to find him you will need to study four terminals:
- You will find the first message in the terminal near the Embassies, to the left of the elevator exit.
- You will read the second from the device installed in the refugee camp, to the left of the elevator doors.
- The third terminal is right there at the docks, but in the cargo hold. Go to the very end of the location.
- You will read the fourth message in the same place as the second - at the entrance to the refugee camp.
Keep in mind that you should not fly away from the station if you began to study the terminals. Otherwise, you will find an unpleasant bug "Citadel: Khanar-diplomat." When you return to the location, you will not be able to resume the task, since the terminals will become inactive. Therefore, it is better to finish the quest immediately.
We reveal the traitor
Having collected all the data, go to the floor of the Embassies. You will find a Salarian near the first terminal, standing to the left of the elevator exit. Together with Yondum Bau go to meet with the diplomat. Khanar will confirm that he follows the case of the Inspirers - the Reaper assistants, known as Collectors. In addition, the diplomat managed to launch a virus into your system before your arrival, which will soon destroy the defense of the planet Kahye. This will lead the Khanars to withdraw from the war with the Reapers.
The Salarian will try to neutralize the virus, but the traitor's bodyguard will attack him. And now Shepard will have to decide how to save the situation.
- If the virus is neutralized, the spectrum will die. This choice is worth making to get Hero points.
- If you save the Salarian, then the Reapers will destroy the planet. Such a path is preferred to players earning a reputation as an “Apostate”.
There is a third option in the game, but it is available if in the second part of the game your character has earned Kasumi's loyalty. In this case, the thief will exit the stealth mode and engage in the destruction of the virus. And the hero at that time will neutralize the bodyguard and save Yondum Bau.
In the future, Spectrum wants to arrest Kasumi, but he will not succeed. An explosion will sound, the thief will disappear, and the Salarian will think that she is dead. Later, you will be able to persuade the "surviving" Kasumi to join the fight against the Reapers. On this quest "Citadel: Khanar-diplomat" will be completed, but there are still many adventures ahead of your hero.
Mission rewards
The quest “Citadel: Khanar Diplomat” will bring +2 reputation points, as well as +7 Hero / Apostate points, depending on Shepard’s actions. After completing the mission, you will be joined by the troops of drills and canaries (+50). If before that you completed the side quest "Panacelin for Aliens", then you will receive 8 additional points.
If you destroyed the planet, but saved Yondum, then you will be awarded +40 points to the Spectrum Division. You will only get the best prize with Kasumi. In this case, the increase to the troops will be +115 points. If you follow the instructions, completing the quest is not difficult.
