Biography

Robert Thoma was born in the small French town of Gap, located in the department of the Upper Alps, in 1927.

The heyday of his creative career came in the 50-60s, when he wrote his most famous plays: "8 Women", "Trap for a Lonely Man", "Parrot and Chicken", "Freddy".

The works of playwright Robert Thom are well known from films shot based on his works. In our country, Alla Surikova and Alexei Korenev worked on paintings based on his plays, and in the 2000s, the iconic French director Francois Ozon.

In 1989, the television show "Waiting for Elizabeth" was released at the Soviet Lentelefilm studio.

The action takes place on Christmas Eve in the 1950s. A large family lives in the French hinterland: the spouses Marcel and Gaby, the sister of his wife Augustine and their mother, daughter Catherine, the cook Chanel, two maids and a maid Louise.

At the very beginning, the eldest daughter of Gaby and Marcel, whose name is Suzon, returns for vacation from study in London. Soon, the maid brings breakfast to Marcel’s bedroom, but discovers that he is killed. Fearing that the killer is still in the house, the women lock the room and hide the key.

Soon, Marcel's sister appears, who received an anonymous call in the morning demanding to come immediately, since her brother was killed. The situation is becoming increasingly confused ...
