In anticipation of the birth of a child, many expectant mothers collect a baby dowry in advance. They reflect on many questions: where to get a blanket for a child or how to crochet booties? For beginner needlewomen, this task seems rather complicated. To facilitate the work of knitting tiny booties for the baby, we provide a very simple scheme that everyone can master.
How to crochet booties ?
The scheme is shown in sequence in step-by-step photographs.
- For work, prepare: yarn (very little, you can have leftovers from other products), a hook (not thin), a needle and two buttons for decoration. If you use a melange thread, as in the photo, you will not need to constantly change the yarn, and this will facilitate and speed up the work. At the same time, the booties will be very elegant. Also do not forget that the materials for a small child should be only natural, so check the quality of the yarn before knitting booties.
- Crochet (for beginners it is better to use No. 3,5) make a chain of several air loops and connect it into a ring. Since the work begins with knitting the sock, then knit 8 crochet through the center. The second round is 16 single crochet. The third circle - the columns should be 24 (evenly add to knitting in a circle). Sock is finished. For the smallest babies, the sock needs to be reduced due to the number of loops.
- Further, from the 4th to the 9th rows, you need to knit 24 loops, forming a segment resembling a tube (in the photo this section is made in blue, so that it is more clear how to crochet booties for beginners).
- The next 16 rows (from 10th to 26th) knitting will not be in a circle, but in the form of a fabric. With crochets, 20 loops should be knitted and a turn should be made. If you knit booties for a newborn baby, then you should reduce the number of rows, thereby shortening slippers. Remember that for knitwear, it is common to stretch over time, so make the booties a couple of centimeters shorter than the estimated size of the baby’s legs.
- Now you should connect the two parts of the heel. Fold the knitted fabric in half (gray yarn in the photo) and sew or halve both halves together. All clothes for the baby should not have internal seams, so as not to damage the delicate skin of the baby.
- Since crocheting booties for beginner mothers is not at all difficult, it is even easier to make a decorative border around the perimeter of the booties. The idea suggests itself, to decorate small shoes with multi-colored strings, pompons, ribbons, buttons, knitted flowers or lace. If the baby is born in the cold season, then on the basis of such technology it is possible to tie small boots to the baby. To do this, it is enough to continue to tie the top of the booties in a circle, forming a “bootleg” boot.
