You can sew New Year's costumes for a children's matinee on your own. Of course, for this you need a little free time, things of bright colors that can be remade, or small pieces of new fabric, accessories, a sewing machine and, of course, at least some cutting and sewing skills.
The process of creating a costume will not take you much time, and it will be very interesting and useful for the baby to observe your
creative work and help in performing simple operations. A carnival outfit invented by you and made by yourself will be unique and more interesting than that purchased in a store (several of your children from your group or your class will probably come to these).
Since you are going to sew on your own, you should not choose something very complicated: problems may arise during the execution of the work. In addition, the costume should be interesting and convenient for the child.
Let's, for example, consider how to sew a costume of a gnome - a popular fairy-tale character that a child probably knows about from books he has read.
What a gnome looks like, of course, you remember. First of all, think about what details of the costume can be borrowed from the child’s wardrobe in the finished form.
Making a gnome costume with your own hands, you can use the existing bright shirt, plain or with a cheerful pattern. It will be good if you go around the edges of the collar and cuffs with gathered lace.
To make a gnome costume, you will have to find a short vest, preferably bright, or sew it yourself. Her pattern is extremely simple, fabric on such a product will need very little. Treat the edges of the product with a contrasting twine or braid. To decorate the vest, use applique, bright buttons, patch pockets.
To make a beautiful gnome costume you will need breeches below the knee. They are also easy to sew yourself. Perhaps something suitable will be found in the wardrobe of the child. In an extreme case, shorten the cute colors of the pants from which the child simply grew up. Pick up the bottom of the breeches and also trim with lace. The basis for the New Year's outfit is ready.

Now the costume is completely ready. Sew a bag or backpack from the remnants of fabrics of different colors. As you can see, to create a carnival outfit, it will take quite a bit of time and your ability to show a creative approach to business and imagination.
