"Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl": endings

The game "Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl" was released in 2007 and immediately won the hearts of the players, and not only in the CIS countries - the game became known beyond its borders. Uneven, with a lot of bugs, sagging in many ways, it still became a unique event for the game industry in the territory of the former USSR. The magnificent atmosphere of the post-apocalyptic world, an interesting storyline, non-standard gameplay - all this together created the unique world into which some players are happy to return to this day.

"Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl"

The game was created by GSC Game World, based in Ukraine. The development took a long five years, during which the gameplay was changed several times beyond recognition. Only the concept remained unchanged: in an alternative reality, a new explosion occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 2006, and an amazing exclusion zone formed by the military formed around.

Shadows of Chernobyl

Stalker is a first-person shooter with RPG elements built on survival. The local environment is very unfriendly to the player: various anomalies, if you get into which you can get injured or die, radiation, mutants, military, guarding the zone, bandits, various groups and much more. In the process, the player will have to confront the zone itself, finding strong weapons, good equipment, various artifacts from anomalies that enhance the player’s characteristics.

Game plot

The plot revolves around an experienced stalker (researchers of the zone illegally penetrating there for looting and hunting for rare artifacts) nicknamed Mechnyy, who is found among the wreckage of a truck struck by lightning. He is badly wounded, he doesn’t remember anything, and the only entry in his CCP is: “Kill Strelok.”

Shot from the game

Throughout the game, Tagged tries to remember his past, searches for Strelka and reveals the terrible secrets of the zone. In the end, he learns that the Shooter is himself, and in the center of the zone stands a mysterious crystal - the Wishmaster, which is guarded by a group of fanatics called "Monolith".

The ending of the game "Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl" depends on the actions of the player marked. There are seven endings in the game: two true and five false.

True endings

True endings called "Shadow of Chernobyl", associated with the participation of "O-consciousness." To get them, you must fulfill a number of conditions. The labeled one finds a setting that controls the Desire. He destroys it, causing a malfunction in the system and a holographic projection of the representative of "O-consciousness."

Game-related fan art

He says that "O-consciousness" is a detachment of scientists who conducted experiments with the noosphere. Their experiments failed, causing a breakdown in the noosphere, which provoked a breakthrough in a clot of energy. This led to the formation of the zone. In order not to be detected, scientists, using psi-installations, zombified all stalkers who tried to penetrate to the center of the Zone. They used zombies for their own purposes, as did Strelka. Then it became dangerous for them and scientists gave the order for its destruction. The coding program crashed, and Tagged, among other agents, received an order for his murder.

As a result, the player has to make a choice: join the O-Consciousness and fight the Zone or destroy them.

True Ending Development Options

The first ending of the game “Shadow of Chernobyl” is consent to join the ranks of “O-consciousness”. The arrow is placed in a capsule with sensors connected and nothing more is known about it. At the end, you can see his friend - the Doctor, who is walking through the swamps and tells his dog that he has not seen Strelok for a long time, but he will get out of any mess.

The second option is to refuse to join the ranks of "O-consciousness." The shooter comes to a meeting with "O-consciousness" and sees its participants there, immersed in capsules. Tagged shoots them, after which the picture changes. Instead of the Zone, the player sees a pleasant world covered with fragrant greens. He hears the birds singing, lays down in the thick grass and discusses whether he made the right choice. This is a good ending to “Shadow of Chernobyl” and it is its developers who recognize the game as true.

False endings

Also in Stalker: “Shadow of Chernobyl” endings may be false. They can be opened if, instead of searching for a secret door to the O-Consciousness base, go to the Desire Provider. Here the stalker makes a wish and gets one of the endings:

  1. Wealth. To achieve it, you need to save more than 50 thousand money and not kill at least one of the leaders of the groups (Lukash or Voronin). After the enriched wealth, Strelka begins to pour gold (in fact, it is a Contractor’s mirage, instead of it, nuts are poured on the Marker). Metal falls asleep with his head, after which the roof of the building collapses.
  2. Immortality. For this ending, you must have at least 50,000 money, a neutral reputation, at least one living leader of the groups and a large number of first-aid kits and artifacts for health. A wish-fulfiller turns Strelka into a metal statue.
  3. The disappearance of all people. It is necessary to have a bad reputation, less than 50,000 and a live Lukas / Voronin. Stalker sees strange hallucinations, after which he understands that the whole world has disappeared, and he was left alone in a black void.
  4. The disappearance of the Zone. The tagged one sees that the Zone is disappearing, the world around is transforming, as in a good ending: around greens and birds. Stalker opens his eyes and realizes that he does not see all this beauty. He is blind. For the ending you need to have a good reputation, less than 50,000 and one living group leader.
  5. Power over the world. For this ending, it is necessary to kill both leaders of the Duty and Liberty groups. The monolith sucks in the soul of Stalker and from it remains one suit.
    Soul Arrow sucks Monolith
