Of course, many watched the once popular youth thriller “Scream”. Everyone remembers the awesome image of the protagonist. Such an outfit will be very relevant for Halloween. The Scream costume with its exotic mask will surprise and scare the people around you at the carnival event. This holiday outfit can be bought at the store or rented. And if you have the time, it’s better to make it yourself. Creating such an image is both a saving of money and a creative process. So let's get started.
Costume "Scream": job description
You will need:
- plasticine;
- scissors;
- construction gun;
- plastic cups (two pieces);
- lining fabric (black);
- soap solution;
- white threads;
- a simple pencil;
- paper;
- elastic and simple bandage;
- white silicone;
- erase;
- oil paint (black and red);
- brush;
- ruler;
- rubber gloves ;
- a disk with the movie "Scream".
Mask sketch
Before we begin to make the costume, we will draw a sketch of the mask of the main character-maniac. If you don’t remember what the mask looks like, then watch the movie. Or we recommend using our sketch. We take paper and pencil.
We start the drawing with an oval and draw the lines obliquely in it (needed to designate the eyes, jaw and nose). Next, draw the eyes. Note! We draw so that it turns out on the sketch a sad
expression of the eyes. Next, draw a nose and a slightly elongated mouth. The sketch is ready. We begin to sculpt the mask. An exciting lesson is coming!
How to make a Scream costume and mask
So, apply plasticine on top of the prepared sketch. We fashion a three-dimensional shape. Then we take an ordinary bandage and cut it into strips of thirty centimeters. Put them on a plasticine mold. Next, take a construction gun with silicone.
Squeeze out a bandage with a thickness of three millimeters. We put on gloves and carefully level the silicone. We wait for complete drying and apply another layer. Leave the mask. Dry and weather it.
While preparing to decorate. Pour a little paint into the cups and squeeze out the silicone there. Take a brush. Paint the eyes and mouth with black, and make the eyes red. It’s as if there’s a drop of blood on the mask so that the Scream costume is even more awesome.
When the mask dries, remove it from the plasticine form. With a knife we make slits for the eyes. The mask can have an unpleasant smell, as it is made of silicone. To get rid of it, put the product in a soapy solution for a day. And dry again. To keep the mask well, sew an elastic bandage at the attachment points with a thread and a needle (mark them yourself).
Take the material and sew a hooded cloak. Matter choose a rectangular shape. In the middle, make a cutout for the head to make the suit look more realistic. Make cuts at the edges of the cloak.
