Amanda Quick is one of the pseudonym names of the writer Jane Krenz. She was born 03/28/1948 in Cobb, California. The first ten years of her life she spent in Borrego Springs. In 1970, she graduated from the University of California with a bachelor's degree in history. Being confident that it would be difficult to find a job with this degree, I decided to get a master's degree in library science at the University of San Jose.

After graduation, she marries an engineer Frank Krenz, whom she met at the university. The young moved to the Virgin Islands, where Jane worked as a librarian in elementary school for a year. She calls this period of her life a career disaster and moves to the library systems at Duke University.
