Starfish are some of the most amazing creatures that the ocean depths hide. They got their name thanks to the five-pointed shape of the body, which is interesting because it always maintains perfect cleanliness. Tiny flaps on the surface of the skin discard the smallest pieces of debris so that the skin gills are not contaminated with this creature.
By the method of reproduction, starfish are asexual and sexually utilized. The first can be divided into 2 and 3 "rays", which then grow another 3-2 processes, respectively. Some species can separate one part, on which 4 shoots grow. In others, offspring can grow in the stomach, in a special pouch near the mouth, or simply on the back. The stars feed on crustaceans, other echinoderms and mollusks, demonstrating amazing strength when opening the shells of the latter.
Starfish can be of various colors. Amur samples, for example, bluish with white patterns, Henrytsia - beige or red. And the evasteries - one of the largest - have a red color with a blue pattern and a "diameter" of up to 0.7 meters. They have a very interesting vision - they distinguish day by night with the help of special cells located on the tip of each ... leg.
The beautiful appearance of this animal contributes to the fact that numerous institutions, including hotels, often take such names for themselves. So did, for example, the boarding house "Starfish", located in the new part of the Bulgarian town of Sozopol.
