"Boeing 767-300": the scheme of the cabin and the main characteristics

The Boeing 767-300 is a mid-range aircraft developed by Boeing in the 80s of the XX century, which has become the heir and basis for two Boeing 767-200 and 767-400 aircraft, respectively.

The airliner differed from its predecessor in the fuselage, the length of which was decided to increase by 6.43 m, as well as apply innovative technologies to strengthen the entire structure of the airliner. In January 1986, the first flight took place. Already in September 1986, the aircraft received a certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration in the United States for two types of aircraft engines that the manufacturer used. The first company to receive the aircraft in operation was Japan Airlines at the end of September 1986. In May 1989, an option with Rolls-Royce engines began to be produced. The manufacturer could vary the thrust in various engine options from 22,680 kgf to 26,300 kgf. Certification of the airliner was completed at the end of 1989, and mass deliveries began in 1990.

A further development of this project was the modification of the Boeing 767-300ER, which has an increased flight distance, as well as a cargo version of this aircraft.

Technical details of the Boeing 767-300

Boeing 767 is recognized as one of the safest and highest quality airliners in the world. The layout of the Boeing 767-300 cabin, the order of seats in it most closely meet all safety standards for the carriage of passengers through air channels.

The 767-300 design combines high fuel efficiency, ease of use in many airlines regardless of the region, innovative avionics systems, including the Rockwell-Collins digital flight control system, and the use of the most advanced duralumin alloys.

The Boeing 767-300 cabin has a width of approximately 5.03 meters, which allows the transport, depending on the configuration, from 218 to 350 people, including crew members. Most airlines took care of their customers, equipping their aircraft with multimedia systems with the construction of a cabin according to the 2 + 3 + 2 scheme, providing the most complete customer requests. Such a scheme of the Boeing 767-300 cabin guarantees a prevailing percentage of seats at the edge of the “walkways”, near the window, and only one seat separates the seat in the middle of the row. A study of the public opinion showed that, according to the general level of convenience, passengers put the Boeing 767 on a par with the older 747, as well as with the Airbus A330-200.

Nordwind Airlines (“Nord Wind”, or “North Wind”) was formed in May 2008 as an international company engaged in charter flights, as well as having a license for cargo transportation. The scale of airline flights covers almost the whole world - mainly these are the popular resorts.

In 2010, the company purchased 8 ER modification aircraft to provide maximum comfort to its passengers. Later they were sold to other airlines, and 4 of them were leased to Pegasus Fly (Ikar Airlines LLC).

This airliner at Transaero was especially important before its bankruptcy, and then their number totaled about 12 technical units.

Transaero's Boeing 767-300 owned by the company had a length of 54.9 m, and the distance from the top of one wing to the other, taking into account the cabin, was 47.6 m. The cruising speed of this airliner was slightly lower than usual - 850 km / h at 12 thousand kilometers of the maximum flight path. According to the airline itself, a plane could accommodate, depending on the device of the cabin, from 216 to 276 passengers.

In total, Transaero had two cabin configurations depending on the class of service, which also included a “tourist”, which is distinctive for this carrier.

Traditionally, several rows are assigned to business class seats - from 1 to 6, which can only be in the front of the aircraft, where the best noise suppression is, vibration is not felt when the aircraft changes its position in air and on the ground. The seats are located in 2 in each row, however, there is sufficient space even for the tallest passengers, and there is also the opportunity to move the seat to the “down” position without causing any inconvenience to anyone, which are key differences from the Boeing 767-300 cabin layout air carrier "Nord Wind".

The ranks of the remaining service classes at the Boeing 767-300 (Transaero) are set according to the following scheme: 2 places along the edges, 3 in the center; it is a guarantee of passenger occupancy of the passenger compartment, ensuring their maximum coziness and comfort. Toilets, in turn, are located as follows: in the front, middle and rear of the aircraft, or only in the front and rear, depending on the selected configuration.

In some versions of the Transaero Boeing 767-300 cabin, the economy class is divided by partitions - in this case, there are a number of rows with large legroom, which airlines designate as Comfort.

The statistics allow us to characterize Transaero as the most caring for its customers in terms of organizing space in the Boeing 767-300.

Summary

The Boeing 767-300 airliner can be called a truly successful Boeing project, as it was able to earn great popularity among airlines due to the ability to easily change its space to fit its own needs, as well as in compatibility with the tremendous safety, quality and economy of this type of vessel in comparison with his predecessors. The aircraft is very popular with domestic airlines, which value the ability to transport a decent number of passengers by charter flights over a long distance at minimal cost.
