The most ancient monumental buildings that have survived to this day, built with the greatest accuracy, majestic and mysterious - these, of course, are the pyramids of Egypt, echoes of ancient civilizations. At the sight of these monuments, a trembling just breaks through, itβs worth imagining what efforts it was worth when there were no cars and automatic devices β to create such giants.
Naturally, the question immediately arises: who built the pyramids in Egypt, how could this be done at that time? Yes, then there were no devices and equipment yet, thousands of Egyptian slaves took part in grand construction.
It is assumed that the pyramids were built in this way: when a new pharaoh came to power, he immediately began to prepare a posthumous dwelling for himself in order to have time to build it during his life, because it took many years. He chose a place for the establishment of the pyramid, then thousands of Egyptians went to the mountains for stone blocks. They pulled them on the sand. The stove was installed in a fixed place. Then it was covered with sand so that only its surface was visible. The next plate was installed on it in the same way. And so on, to the very top. When the entire pyramid was installed, then the sand was removed, and at the same time granite slabs were installed over its entire surface. So, presumably, the famous pyramids of Egypt were erected, many of which have survived to this day and continue to surprise and delight visiting tourists.
History claims that, for example, one hundred thousand workers worked simultaneously on the construction of the famous Pyramid of Cheops . Judging by its size and the absence of any mechanical assistants - this is not surprising. The mysteries of the pyramids of Ancient Egypt are amazing and excite the minds of millions of people for centuries. The whole system with which it was possible to build such monuments is difficult to fit into the head. Moreover, with such accuracy that does not lend itself to understanding an ordinary person. Who directed these works, and how it was possible to achieve such accuracy, remains a mystery to modern man.
The pyramids of Egypt, of course, have their own background. It is assumed that initially, when priests or tribal leaders were buried, a room was built underground where the embalmed body of the deceased and his sculptural images lay. On the surface of the earth above it was installed a tombstone, trapezoidal and flat on top. It was called mastaba.
As time passed, various small states began to appear on the territory of Egypt, the rulers of which wanted to stand out among others and make their mastaba more outstanding, powerful and unusual. The beginnings of step pyramids began to appear - tombstones laid one on top of the other, each, respectively, of a smaller size. The first ancient pyramid is the Djoser Pyramid. Then some ancient architect guessed that it would not be bad to fill the openings between the steps, and thus a pyramid with smooth walls, known in our time, appeared.
The pyramids of Egypt have always evoked awe and bewilderment. It is still not clear, for example, why everything inside it was mummified inside the pyramid, why even the most blunt blades were sharpened there. The greatest effect is observed in the central part of the pyramid, where there were usually rooms with mummies.
The most popular are the pyramids built in Giza. These are the largest pyramids, and they were erected by the pharaohs of the 4th dynasty. And among them, the largest in size is the Cheops pyramid. In height, it reaches 146 meters, and the length of its sides is 230 meters. Historians suggest that it was built over 20 years.
The mysteries of the pyramids of Ancient Egypt keep many secrets, and one of them is the so-called "curse of the pharaohs." It was noticed that the robbers penetrating the pyramid, in order to take away the treasures buried with the pharaoh, subsequently died in terrible agony. It is assumed that, perhaps, the ancient priests during the burial left some bacteria in the pyramid that were mummified there, and when the burial was opened, they woke up and hit the robber. But this is one of the assumptions, so far not confirmed by anything.
