Often there are situations when too many unnecessary plastic bottles accumulate in the house. Someone prefers to just throw them away. But, if you have the time and ability, you can turn them into something colorful that will diversify the interior of your home and cause the envy of friends. If you are a lover of exotic, then you will be interested to learn how to make a palm tree from plastic bottles.
You will need:
- a strong pin of about one and a half to two meters long and with a diameter slightly smaller than the neck of accumulated plastic bottles;
- three strong metal pins thirty to forty centimeters long each (depending on the size of your palm, these can be welding rods, quality knitting needles from umbrellas or long knitting needles);
- wire or wire for fastening the structure;
- plastic bottles. It is better to take two-liter, green for the leaves and brown for the trunk. Only the size of the resulting palm depends on the amount;
- if a wooden pole - short nails with a hammer;
- scissors;
- an awl or puncher with a thin drill.
Let's move on to how to make a palm tree out of bottles. It does not require much effort or unusual skills.
Basic training
There are many ways to make palm from plastic bottles. Perhaps the simplest and fastest is to string them through the neck on top of each other. First, wash the building material and remove the labels.
Beginning of production - leaves
Take the green bottles. They need to cut the bottom, and then cut them lengthwise into three parts, from the bottom to the neck, leaving to stay on the dense part of the neck with a thread. Spread the “leaves” outward, cut their edges into thin strips to get a kind of “fringe”. Now, if desired, you can bend this fringe with scissors or a flame. Make a large number of such “leaves."
Trunk
The next step in the process of making a palm tree out of plastic bottles should be the manufacture of the main trunk. Drive six to the ground for thirty to forty centimeters or otherwise strengthen in an upright position. If you know how to handle the welding machine, you can weld the spacers. Now take the brown bottles. It is also necessary to cut off the bottoms from them. After that, put them on the pin. To make it more beautiful, place the bottles “overlap”. For strength, attach each bottle with one to two nails if the pole is wooden.
Compound
Now it will attach the “leaves” to the “trunk”. To do this with an awl or drill, make three through holes in the neck of the top bottle, closed by a lid, thread the pins through them and put “leaves” on them. At the opposite ends of the pin we have bottle caps that are pulled together by wire (wire must be threaded through the neck of the bottle along the pin). For structural strength, it is also recommended that the necks of the inner leaf bottles be pulled together with wire.
And now, the palm from the plastic bottle is ready! It will adorn the courtyard of any home, or, in a shorter version, a balcony or a veranda. This design does not require watering and is green all year round! And if friends ask how to make a palm tree out of plastic bottles - now you know what to answer!
