Sealant "Izhora BP-G35" - properties, features of application

Sealant "Izhora BP-G35" is a bitumen binder. The composition is supplemented with polymer additives and plasticizers, which contribute to the rapid solidification of the material and the acquisition of a sufficient level of strength to counter significant mechanical loads.

The hardened product is characterized by strength, minimal shrinkage, and a high level of elasticity. These advantages make the sealant "Izhora" a highly effective tool in the hands of any master, if necessary, high-quality, quick sealing of joints on a wide variety of surfaces.

Fields of application

Sealant Izhora BP G35
Polymer-bitumen joint insulator is designed for sealing deformed sections of roads, asphalt concrete pavement of airfield sites, arrangement of bridge structures, sealing sections of drainage systems.

The use of material for the implementation of the above tasks seems to be the most rational solution of all available options, since the hardened substance has the highest resistance to wear in a wide temperature range. Sealant "Izhora BP-G35" is excellent at operating under conditions of intense exposure to aggressive environmental factors. The material has excellent adhesion to metal, cement concrete and stone coatings.

Physical and mechanical characteristics

Means for sealing joints differs in performance:

  • The softening temperature is about 90 about C.
  • Preservation of elasticity at a temperature not lower than –35 ° C.
  • Endurance - about 30,000 cycles.
  • Moisture absorption 0.2%.

Sealant "Izhora" - consumption

Sealant Izhora consumption
One of the main issues for masters when using material is the question of how much substance is required for high-quality repair of cracks and damage to coatings. As practice shows, the average consumption of sealant when filling seams with a depth of about 40 mm and a width of 20 mm is not more than 0.8-1.0 kilograms per linear meter.

Material preparation

Before proceeding directly to the work on sealing cracks and joints, the material is cleaned from plastic and cardboard packaging. The solid mass is divided into several parts. Next, the sealant "Izhora BP-G35" is placed in the boiler, where it is heated to a working temperature of about 190 ° C.

Progress

Sealant Izhora
Sealant "Izhora BP-G35" is applied as follows:

  1. To begin with, the foundation is prepared, the seams are cleaned from dirt, rust, scale, delamination, and other debris. In the presence of moisture, the treated surfaces are blown with air and dried.
  2. A primer (bitumen primer) is applied to the prepared substrate.
  3. The Izhora BP-G35 sealant, heated to operating temperature, is poured onto damaged areas using a specialized syringe.
  4. Seams are filled with hot material just above the upper edges, calculated on shrinkage during cooling.
  5. Movement on surfaces covered with sealant is allowed after it has completely cooled to ambient temperature. Only in this case can the substance lag and stick to shoes, wheels of vehicles, be avoided.

Often the consequence of the use of sealant is the formation of stable spills. To cope with the removal of the latter allows surface treatment with hot metal scrapers.
