- The retro-style turban is very similar to a turban with voluminous pleated rollers and embossed elastic. These hats are most often made of wool yarn, as well as mohair and angora. Perfect for women who like to wear elegant, classic items.
- The Vostok turban is the same turban in the center of which there is a huge beautiful brooch or stone. These hats are made from natural yarn - cotton, viscose, wool or mohair.
Knitted hats for women: turban
Today in the market and in stores there is a huge selection of these hats. Styles are presented for every taste and color: the most unusual methods of knitting, coloring and decoration. Wool products are very popular, but, as a rule, they add synthetic yarn.
If you haven’t chosen anything from the whole market assortment, or if you didn’t like something (it didn’t fit), you can knit a hat yourself. We suggest you learn how to knit a turban, a detailed description and diagrams of which will be presented below.
A knitted turban hat (knitting) is very simple. It can be created in the evening. You just need to choose the yarn, decide on the method of knitting and decoration.
What do you need in order to tie a turban hat?
The standard size of the women's hat is 56-58. First you need to take measurements. Take a measuring tape and measure the girth of the head from one earlobe to another through the top of the skull. The result should be divided by 2. After that, prepare the following sewing accessories :
- 100-150 g of wool yarn;
- threads to match yarn;
- knitting needles (indicated on the packaging of the thread);
- needle;
- hook;
- scissors;
- centimeter tape ;
- decorations for decoration or decor.

Classic turban
To create this model, it is better to choose thick warm yarn and knitting needles No. 4. The knitting pattern looks like this:
- From the selected yarn, tie a sample with an elastic band, 4 x 4 cm in size. This is done as follows: 4 wrong loops and 4 front loops. Repeat this frequency until the end of the row.
- Now turn the knitting. Steam the workpiece with an iron, and then count how many loops are on one centimeter.
- Next, take your measurements and multiply the calculated number of loops by the resulting half head circumference. Also, do not forget about two spare edge loops.
The knitted cap has a very light pattern:
- Gather the required number of counted loops and start knitting the product. The length of the workpiece should be 100 cm.
- You need to knit a product directly, as if you are creating a scarf. The pattern will be the same as on a 4 by 4 elastic band.
- The turban should sit tightly on the head, so do the fitting in the process of knitting. Fold the scarf with a “loop” and turn it to the forehead with a rounded end.
- After you finish knitting the part, you need to connect the 2 ends of the finished scarf in a circle. Then turn the product and connect the inner edges of the scarf by 20 centimeters - you should get a hat with a twisted knot.
- Now close the knit by hooking additional loops from the 2nd end with a knitting needle. Put the finished hat on yourself and adjust the knot so that it sits exactly in the center of the forehead.
- After that, fix the product with a needle and thread and decorate it with a beautiful brooch.
Classic turban hat is ready!
Retro turban or braid with a braid
You will need 3 mm needles and 150 g mohair. So, a knitted turban hat - manufacturing scheme:
- The product must be knitted from the center of the occipital part of the head to the side. Based on your measurements, dial approximately 52-56 loops, including edge loops on each side.
- From the first row, start knitting the elastic in this way: 1 edge loop, 2 front, 2 purl and again the edge loop. At the end of the 1st row, place the marker, which will be at the top of the header.
- Continue knitting in this order until the length of the part reaches 27 cm. Then again place the marker at the end of the front row and continue knitting to a height of 53-54 cm, ending the product on the front side.
- In the last row (wrong side), freely close the hinges (wrong side as wrong side, and front like face).
- Now cut the thread so that you have 60-65 cm left to assemble the product.
We are almost ready knitted hat. The description of the assembly of parts looks like this:
- Take the part and fold it in half, make a seam along the top and center of the occipital part of the cap.
- Now twist the product and make a seam across the top, approximately 4 cm from the top.
- Next, bend the top to the bottom and sew to the center seam. You will get a small hole in the center of the cap.
- After this, we proceed to decorate the product. Dial 13 loops and knit with a front stitch of 18 cm.
- Take the finished hat and from the inside, pull the tape into the hole from the middle of the front to the bottom of the product. Now, from the wrong side, fasten (sew) the ends of the braid.
The turban hat knitted according to the description is ready!
Turban "East"
You will need 200 g of wool yarn (thick) and knitting needle number 8. To create an oriental style turban, you need to follow the instructions:
- To begin with, we collect a gum sample alternately - 1 front loop, and 1 back loop. Now we make a transverse elastic band: alternately 4 times the wrong side and 4 times the front surface. The knitting density should be: 9 loops and 14 rows, approximately 10 x 10 cm.
- Pigtail edge: in each row, we knit 1 loop with facial crosses, the last loop of the wrong one must be removed before work.
- The edge should be knitted across and it starts from the middle of the front. Dial 15 loops and knit with an elastic, you need to start with the first loop with a pigtail and the first front, and end with the first facial loop and the first loop of the edge of the pigtail.
- Then, at a height of 62-64 cm, cut the thread, pull through all the loops and tighten it tightly. Also pull off the edge of the loop set and connect the edge of the loop set and the edge of their closure.
- After that, we proceed to the top, we knit according to this scheme:
Dial 28 loops with a transverse elastic and knit with the wrong side, starting from the picture, the height of the product should reach 48 cm. Then carefully close all the loops and proceed with assembly.
The process of assembling turban "East"
After all the elements of the product are connected, they must be properly assembled and stitched. Made in oriental style, knitted hat, turban, description which we provided is going like this:
- First, collect the left edge of the top with nine columns (no crochet), for this you need to crochet one column in part of the wrong side. And on the right edge, pull a double thread and adhere to the height of the part - 24 cm.
- Now pull the edges again at a distance of 8 cm, but leave 2 transverse sections above and below. The strip should be placed on top so that the tapered edge is under the rear center of the strip.
- Sew the bottom edge of the top with a double thread so that the edge loop of the strip protrudes. Sew the second edge as well. After that, sew the remaining edges of the strip to the top of the product.
- In the center of the product you get a small hole that you need to decorate with a large brooch or large stone.
A knitted turban hat with knitting needles will turn out even more beautiful and original if you select several shades of yarn (for example, soft purple, beige and light green). Mixing colors will make your product unusual, stylish and fashionable!
