Indoor roses - growing features

If roses are the most common flowers in gardens , indoor roses are much less common. This is explained very simply, these flowers are not able to stably bloom in room conditions. But in our time there are varieties of miniature roses that feel pretty good indoors. Indoor roses are completely similar to their garden relatives, however, their flowers are much smaller, but have a pleasant smell and a wide variety of colors. If these plants are properly looked after, they will delight you with their flowers from the beginning of spring to the end of summer.

Indoor roses when growing indoors have one feature: they need to create conditions resembling open ground conditions. This means that you have to organize good lighting and a constant flow of fresh air. Also indoor roses like high humidity in the room and require abundant watering. To extend the flowering period, it is necessary to constantly remove flowers that have bloomed.

Indoor roses - varieties

These plants are completely similar to their garden counterparts. They have the same flowers, leaves, they have a very pleasant smell and a wide variety of colors. For indoor cultivation, you must choose varieties that have a height of about 30 centimeters. The best ones are:

- Judy Fischer, is a bush about 22 cm high, the flowers of which are pink in color and practically do not smell;

- Baby Darling is also almost odorless, but about 30 cm high. The flowers are orange-pink in color;

- Yellow Doll reaches a height of 25 cm, the flowers are light yellow, have a pleasant smell;

- Starina is also very fragrant, has a bright red color of flowers;

- Angela Rippon - has a carmine-pink color, a pleasant smell of flowers and a height of about 30 cm.

Rose is a houseplant, and for its full and proper development it is necessary to create certain conditions:

- the plant is very photophilous, therefore it is necessary to arrange it only from the southwest and southeast side, on the southern side in the summer, the flowers will very quickly fall off. Being on the north side, the bush will bloom poorly due to lack of sunlight. In the summer, indoor roses feel very good in the garden, here they easily tolerate heat and sunshine;

- like all indoor plants, a rose is very fond of fresh air, therefore, as soon as weather conditions permit, it is necessary to open the windows in the apartment. In the summer, it’s generally better to place them on the terrace or balcony, and the best option would be to dig them in the garden. A plant that is in a stuffy and dark room will grow very slowly and bloom poorly;

- Although indoor roses require abundant watering, they do not tolerate waterlogging of the soil. It’s better not to pour enough than to pour. It is necessary to use only the settled water. In summer, plants need abundant moisture, and closer to autumn, watering should be reduced. Usually, watering is reduced immediately after flowering;

- since the rose does not like dry air, it must be periodically sprayed, in the summer, 2 times a day. But remember that a plant that is in the sun should not be sprayed so that it does not receive sunburn.

Winter Rose Care

The rose must have a rest period. This period begins approximately from October to February. At this time, plants need to create suitable temperature conditions (about 8 degrees, it is at this temperature that they feel comfortable). If you still leave roses on the windowsill, then take care of creating a glass barrier to create more comfortable conditions for the plant. In winter, indoor roses are rarely watered and do not spray them.
