Sewerage is an open system, so the fecal mass can go in the opposite direction when the pipes are clogged. To avoid such a nuisance, a non-return valve for sewage should be installed.
Varieties of check valves and their installation
The valve can be installed in two ways:
1. Installation of one common non-return valve, the throughput of which is very high.
2. A non-return valve is installed on each element of the plumbing.
The common valve should be installed only in those rooms whose area does not differ in large size. In addition, the installation of valves by a similar method depends on the location and design of the sewer system itself. A common valve to the sewer is installed very rarely. Installation in the second way is used more often, since in this case the area of ββthe house and the location of the sewer system do not play a special role.
The backpressure valve for the sewerage has two types: ordinary and for toilets. The second type is also called a check valve for fan pipes. Such valves are mounted directly into the pipe. Especially responsible should approach the installation of check valves for toilets, if there are counterclones of pipes, and to correct this situation is not possible. Valves are mainly made of metal or polyvinyl chloride. Previously used flanged metal valves, but every year their use is becoming less common. This is due to their fragility.
Check valves for sewerage and their advantages
You should know that the check valve for water and the valve for fan pipes have a different design and a different operating principle. The first valve has several different levels in the nozzles. A ball filled with air is placed in the space between several nozzles. If water begins to flow through the pipes in the opposite direction, then this ball blocks the inlet pipe by pressing on a special membrane. Such valves can be easily cleaned, as they have a removable cover. In addition, they can be blocked in case of congestion using a special valve.
For fan pipes, valves are installed directly in the pipe itself. In diameter, this valve reaches eleven centimeters. Typically, a non-return valve for sewage goes on sale in the form of a cylinder with a cover that opens under the pressure of the water. After draining the water, the lid returns to its original position using a spring mechanism. The lid opens only one way. In other words, if the fecal matter goes in the opposite direction, they cannot open the lid.
Even in those houses where the system is working properly, it is necessary to install a check valve for sewage, as it not only delays the flow of fecal matter, which can change its original direction, but also prevents the appearance of unpleasant odors from the pipes of the sewer system.
