Weaving is a very interesting activity. At leisure, a person can realize his creative potential by creating various useful original gizmos. A basket of newspaper tubes, a bread box, a box for storing dirty laundry - this is not a complete list of what you can weave. In addition, this hobby is almost cost-free, because the material from which various items are created is ordinary newspapers that we find in our inboxes.
Making newspaper tubes
A basket of newspaper tubes is made according to the principle of weaving baskets from rods. The difference is only in the material used in weaving. Therefore, it is important to prepare the tubes first. To do this, cut the newspaper into strips about ten centimeters wide along the long side, then put the knitting needle on the lower left corner of the newspaper strip at an angle of 45 degrees and wind it tightly. The remaining edge of the strip is fixed with glue. A basket of newspaper tubes can be of very different shapes and sizes, so it’s hard to say exactly how many tubes are needed to make it.
The process of weaving the base of the basket
The easiest way is to make a basket of newspaper tubes with a square or rectangular base. First, take 10 tubes and put them next to each other in parallel. The next tube should be laid perpendicular to the top ten on top of them, and then carefully bring each even out of 10 to the top. We take one more and begin to weave over the first, bringing up the already odd dozen tubes - staggered. If you decide to weave a basket of newspaper tubes with a square base, then after laying the tenth transverse row, you should proceed to design the walls of the craft. For a basket with a rectangular base, a little more transverse rows are made. For a round base, slightly modified technology is required. When the master gets a 10x10 grid, the next tube needs to be woven in a circle, turning the base and "smoothing" the corners of the square. It is necessary to try to achieve the shape of a circle.

When we
weave baskets from newspaper tubes, often in the process the product breaks up into parts. To prevent this from happening, it is recommended from time to time to fasten the workpiece with a stapler or glue. Having received the desired size of the base of the future basket, you should raise the tubes up and continue to weave tightly in a circle into the walls of the basket. To achieve the required density, you need to weave the elements as close to each other as possible. At the end of the tube, one more should be inserted into its bell, lubricating the junction with glue. When the desired height is reached, using the needle, the remaining tips of the tubes are tucked into the basket. You can make a wicker handle for the basket or make a lid that can be fixed with rubber bands or rope loops.

The process of registration depends entirely on the wizard. You can cover the basket with stain at the end of work using a sponge or brushes. There is an option to paint the product with acrylic paint, diluted in equal proportions with PVA glue. Several layers should be applied: both for beauty and strength. And you can take paper napkins with a pattern and stick to the finished product.
