Master class on how to make an origami modular basket

The origami modular basket is assembled in almost the same way as most crafts in this technique - quite simply. Therefore, it can be done by both a master and a novice. We make modules

Before you assemble a modular origami "Basket", you will have to make a lot of modules.

1. Cut the same rectangles out of colored paper.
2. Take one of them and fold it in half in length (Fig. 1).
3. Then fold it in half again so that a fold line forms (Fig. 2).
4. Lay the rectangle in front of you, with the convex side of the fold line up.
5. Bend its right and left sides to the center to get “wings” (Fig. 3).
6. Turn the figure over and fold the edges of the “wings” (Fig. 4).
7. Unscrew the edges and bend one corner on the right and left side (Fig. 5).
8. Tighten the edges again (Fig. 6).
9. Fold the figure in half (fig. 7 and 8).

The item is ready! It remains to make them a few dozen in the same way to get a beautiful modular origami basket.

Putting the first round

The origami modular basket begins in the same way as most other crafts made in this technique. That is, you put two parts on the rib and put on the third. To continue the circle, add the fourth module down and put the fifth one on top. Thus, collect the entire ring (see how this is done in the proposed photo). To continue the assembly, you need to make several rows.

By the way, if you want the origami modular basket to be roomy, then make the first row large enough. True, then in the craft there will be a bottom with a hole. But it can be closed with ordinary cardboard, from which cut a circle of a suitable diameter and insert it inside.

When the modules are ready, and the first two rows are already assembled, you can form a basket. To do this, continue to create walls from the triangle parts. Wear the modules row by row in the order you need. Over time, you will see your basket expand.

By and large, the modular origami of the "Basket" and "Egg" schemes are assembled the same way. Only for a basket you need only half the testicle, and the bottom should be wider.

When the craft reaches the desired height, proceed to the assembly of the handle.

By the way, if you do not make a pen, then you will get not a basket, but a vase (for example, for sweets). But since we make a basket, we offer you a master class on assembling its handle:

1. Glue the middle of one module with glue and put it on the wall of the basket.
2. Next, put on two more, also coated with PVA glue.
3. Keep putting the modules on top of each other.
4. In each row you should have three details.
5. When assembling the handle, try to bend it into an arc.
6. When the handle is fully assembled, grease the last modules with PVA glue and attach to the wall of the basket.

To complete the work, add a couple of rows of named parts on the sides of the handle.

If you intend to use the basket as a table decoration, then you do not need to use PVA glue. But if you know that you need to carry the basket, holding the handle, and inside there will also be something not weightless, then each module of this basket element is best lubricated with glue.

Paper basket design options

The origami modular basket can be of completely different types, it all depends on your capabilities, imagination and preferences.

The easiest way to diversify the design is to make a basket with a pattern. To do this, use multi-colored modules and assemble them in a certain order (for example, to make rhombuses).

It will be no less beautiful if the edges of the basket are not even, but zigzag. This is done simply - wear the modules not in a circle, but in sections.

You can collect a basket in the shape of a swan. This can be a traditional basket with a handle, a swan head is added to one of the walls of which. It is assembled in the same way as the handle, only at the end one large module is added, performing the function of a beak. It can also be a basket, which has a swan head and tail instead of a handle. To make it, you need to assemble the modules in the shape of a triangle.

You can also make an origami basket on a stand. The technique of execution is the same as when assembling the crafts "Egg". First, a small plate is made up of modules, then it turns over and the basket itself is assembled on it.

To diversify the design of paper baskets, you can also use the internal filling. For example, put real candies inside or collect additional flowers using the origami technique.
