Repair is in full swing, disputes over the choice of the color scheme of the room are left behind, materials and tools are bought, space is free to the maximum - you can start creating. But something stops. You have no way to decide where to start? Well, start from the ceiling. If your plans do not include an order and installation of a tension structure, then you will be interested to know how to properly paint the ceiling. The process is time-consuming, and the result largely depends on your patience and accuracy.
Why do we start work from above? Just as if you were not insured, but droplets of paint will still fly down. Why bother upsetting and scolding yourself for a freshly laid but already hopelessly damaged floor covering? Therefore, we act reasonably.
We pre-roll the plastic film on the floor (the floor, of course, has not been touched yet, but why bother with rubbing the stains); places that are not subject to tinting are pasted over with special masking tape. Before painting the ceilings, measure out the required amount of color. I hope you did not forget to prepare the surface? The primer evens the surface and gives the desired density, preventing the paint from peeling off.
In order for the coating to lie evenly and not “strip”, it must be applied correctly. The main thing in the task of how to paint the ceilings is always to follow the direction from the light source (window) to the walls.
We work around the perimeter with a wide brush. Hold it correctly: we tilt the flat part to the surface, gradually increasing this angle in the direction of travel. Do not push the brush too hard to prevent smudges.
The first layer is applied perpendicular to the window. Let the paint dry. Do not rush the process by placing heaters in the room. Just spend money paying electricity bills, and fresh color will go in bubbles. Be patient and wait for the composition to fix on the surface itself.
How to paint the ceilings again? It is necessary to guide the roller from the light source, but already moving parallel to the window. The second layer lies crosswise relative to the first coating.
We act delicately with the roller. Pressing evenly, we draw a strip, not looking up from the surface for a moment. We lead the next strip, slightly superimposing it on the previous one. It's okay if there are traces of the edges. We carefully roll them perpendicular to the main direction.
Avoid drafts in the room where the decoration is being done!
So that the result of your own labors will please you as long as possible, think carefully about how to
paint the walls. In the bathroom or in the kitchen, the paint must successfully withstand moisture. Therefore, latex compositions based on acrylate will not exfoliate in a month. And antifungal supplements will not give mold a chance. For concrete, brick surfaces, a water emulsion and acrylic are suitable.
Of course, even following all the recommendations on how to paint the ceilings, you can find small defects on the finished coating: traces from the roller or brush, small swellings. Nothing wrong! Deficiencies are cleaned with sandpaper and repainted.
Take your time and don't be nervous: the calmer you are, the smoother the paint will lie. And do not scold yourself for minor errors that can always be easily fixed.
