  • "Kiev Ring".
  • Mayakovskaya.

They are decorated with stones, sculptures and paintings. And there are mysterious ghost stations of the Moscow metro that have not been functioning for a long time and a little scare the inhabitants of the city with their mystery. Almost every one of them is already legendary.

What are the ghost stations of the Moscow metro?

Moscow is a large city that is developing very rapidly, and in connection with this, new underground stations are constantly being built. Unfinished, closed for some reason, inaccessible to passengers and not yet launched station - “the ghost of the Moscow metro”. They are so called because trains passing them slow down, and passengers can see empty halls that look like ghosts from a window.

If these are unfinished stops, then work on them, usually at night, when the metro is closed for use.

Some stops were deactivated over time due to the construction of new halls, or they were originally built as temporary ones.

For example, since 1950, temporary halls of the Moscow Metro of the USSR were built. They were needed so that passengers could travel from these stops before they build and put into operation new - permanent halls. After they were closed, such ghost stations of the Moscow metro began to be adapted to the economic needs of enterprises, while leaving some design details.

"Soviet"

For example, this can be attributed to this and many other ghost stations of the Moscow metro.

The “Soviet” plans were to enter the points of the Gorky radius during its design in 1930, but after a while it turned out that the slope of the tunnels would not allow to build a full-fledged station on this site, and it was closed.

The stop was supposed to be located directly under Tverskaya Square. By personal decree of Stalin, it was converted under the headquarters of GO. At the moment, there are shelters of state municipal institutions located above the stage.

"Trinity-Lykovo"

It is considered a hall with great prospects, because it is located on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro line of the capital. The station is located on the existing interval of the road between Krylatsky and Strogino. This stop represents only half of the stage with a small platform and office space. It is currently used to transport employees. Although it is listed on some lists as a promising building, no project has yet to be scheduled to open it.

Moscow ghost station

May Day

This is the first temporary station in the Soviet Union, which was opened in 1954 and operated for seven years until it opened the permanent Izmailovo station. The decoration of the temporary station “Pervomaiskaya” is distinguished by the splendor characteristic of those times. The lobby is especially beautiful, which is located on the surface and makes the station a real train station. Inside the hall was decorated a beautiful bas-relief and original chandeliers, which at the moment have disappeared. Now there are several workshops of the Izmailovo repair depot and the assembly hall of the enterprise.

Kaluga

This hall opened in 1964 and was the final stop of the Kaluga-Riga metro line. The decoration of the premises reflects the Khrushchev era. The depot functioned for ten years, after which it was converted into a warehouse, as a new stop of the same name was opened nearby. Since then, Kaluzhskaya has replenished the ghost stations of the Moscow metro. She kept the platforms, and the drivers of the new depot are resting in the lobby.

Volokolamskaya

This stop was erected at the time when they planned to build a new residential area next to it. However, everything turned out differently, and the construction was suspended.
This is another frozen building, which is located on the Taganskaya line of the underground road and replenishes the ghost stations of the Moscow metro - Volokolamskaya. It looks like a standard platform with concrete columns. There are no decorative ornaments on the walls and chandeliers, moreover, there are no exits. Although there is information about the presence of one exit, which was closed, but confirmation of this was not found. According to the same architectural project, a station was built in the city of Tashkent.

Since there was no lighting at the station, the trains passed it without reducing the speed.

Since 2008, the construction was given to the stadium of a construction company, which considered it an attractive place.

At the moment, the Spartak station is open here, and the stadium of the club of the same name is located nearby.

From Kalininskaya to Kievskaya

After the section called the Arbat radius was opened in 1953, the parallel stage from Kalininskaya to Kievskaya was closed. Warehouses were equipped here for spare parts and wagons.

And such premises as Smolenskaya and Arbatskaya were used for exhibitions. For quite a while, the ghost stations of the Moscow metro continued to delight people with such events. Photos from the exhibitions are amazing. But Smolenskaya closed after the third event, and they went to Arbatskaya until the resumption of this line. Now all these stops are part of the Filevskaya branch.

Other ghosts of the subway

On the "Leninsky Prospekt", in the middle, you can see the additional passage, which is closed. It leads to "Gagarin Square" - another closed underground platform.

In 1980, when the Novoyasenevskaya station was being built, one of the exits was to lead directly to a large zoo. Now only an iron picture with animals near that entrance can remind of this.

In 1996, the FizTech station suddenly appeared on the scheme, which was considered to be under construction. This surprised many Muscovites who knew that such a stop did not exist, because it was located behind Altufyevo, and no work was done in this direction. It turned out that this was just a joke of a student who typed his own version on a computer and pasted it in underground train cars.

In addition, in the capital there are stations not with two, but with three routes. These are Polezhaevskaya and Partizanskaya. Once upon a time, large projects of stadiums and other similar facilities were planned near them, the third way was to increase the capacity of the stations. Now not useful ways are often filmed in the cinema.

"Red Gate" - another stage that can be included in the ghost station of the Moscow metro, it existed during the Second World War. The “Red Gate” housed a military headquarters in those years, trains did not stop, and a high plywood fence separated the platform.

Sometimes you can hear that somewhere there are new unfinished projects that replenish the ghost stations of the Moscow metro, but the information is not always confirmed.

City's legends

The most interesting and mysterious is not that the stations exist, but the legends that go about these places.

One of the most mysterious stories is considered that of the Perovo station. Its lobby is decorated with frescoes with a lion, the sun, birds and a unicorn. Since all this is considered certain symbols from ancient myths, in this connection there are opinions that the bas-relief is associated with the Slavic gods. Others associate the head of a lion with a chapter from the Bible that talks about the end of the world. Employees say that during decoration, the sculptor suddenly fell ill and urgently called another. He coped with the work very quickly and efficiently, and in the light of emergency circumstances no one bothered to see what exactly is depicted in the sculptures. The master himself disappeared without a trace, and there is no information about him.

Moscow metro ghost station

Another horror story about the underworld is the legend of a ghost train that travels around Koltseva once a month. He stops at all underground stops, but rarely opens doors. It is believed that if a person enters the car, then no one else will find him. The train itself is of an old design, an engineer in the uniform typical of the pre-war era, and several passengers also dressed in old gray clothes. It is believed that in this train are the souls of the deceased while working on underground roads. Prisoners were attracted to them, so they did not stand on ceremony and could be thrown into the mine and walled up directly into the wall for the slightest fault.
