Ribbed slabs are a type of reinforced concrete products that is used in the early stages of the construction of load-bearing structures. More recently, ribbed slabs were used only in civil engineering in the construction of multi-storey buildings. But now they are actively used in industrial construction.
For example, attic, storage, industrial buildings are covered with ribbed plates. In residential areas, the use of ribbed plates is limited. Ribbed slabs are made of solid silicate concrete, lightweight dense concrete or heavy grade concrete. The main component of the structure is concrete and steel reinforcement. Materials must be of the highest quality. According to the norms, the maximum load on the plate itself cannot exceed 6 kPa (without taking into account the mass of the plate). In ribbed plates there may be holes and cutouts in the shelves, if this is provided for by the technical data sheet.
Mortgages are intended for fastening plates to load-bearing structures. On the longitudinal ribs of the outer face are recesses for installing dowels between adjacent plates. Ribbed reinforced concrete slabs are made strictly in accordance with state standards.
Plate classification
According to the type of operation, two types of plates are distinguished:
1. Floor slabs.
2. Plate cover.
They have different weight stability, so their interchangeability is impossible. Ribbed reinforced concrete floor slabs are intended for the installation of ceilings in multi-storey buildings, large industrial buildings, public buildings, utility and auxiliary buildings.
Coating slabs are necessary in the construction of one-story manufacturing enterprises.
Plate Quality Control
When buying material, you should first of all pay close attention to the marking of ribbed reinforced concrete slabs. Ribbed slabs (GOST) manufactured at the plants should be accompanied by full information on the name, type, size, type of concrete, maximum withstand load, class of steel reinforcement, the presence of various holes and their diameters, etc.
But that is not all. The most important characteristic that ribbed reinforced concrete slabs should have is a high degree of reliability. They must comply with the following requirements: water tightness, rigidity, strength, sound insulation, gas tightness, heat insulation, vapor barrier, fire resistance. For this reason, when buying ribbed plates, you should pay attention to the manufacturer, purchase plates only from trusted manufacturers. Products must pass quality control by factory quality control and have a supporting document.
