According to the Federal Law No. 5 of January 12, 1995, a veteran of the Armed Forces can be persons:

The list of benefits is small, but additional support systems are provided at the regional level. Regional authorities can decide for themselves whether to provide any benefits or not. Armed forces of the Russian Federation do not allocate money for this, payments are made by the regional budget.
Medical field
What benefits does a veteran of military service in the medical field have? These citizens can apply to any government agencies, receiving free assistance. There will be no need to pay for the services of doctors. It is only necessary to provide a certificate. Examination in public hospitals and clinics is free of charge.
This measure is valid for all government organizations. It will not work to be treated and examined in commercial centers for benefits, if this is not provided for by the organization.
Orthopedic and prosthetic means and prosthetics
These benefits for pensioners and veterans of military service include the purchase of prostheses and prosthetic and orthopedic products at the expense of the state. But the installation of prostheses is not compensated. It turns out that the operation itself will be paid by the person himself. But in some regions, benefits are also provided for paying for such procedures.
Dentures are also provided. But restrictions apply: cermets and expensive precious metal products are not paid by the state. Privileges for military service veterans are provided for housing. For them, a discount of 50% of the amount. After applying for a designated account, half of the funds are transferred. Regional legislation should not violate federal regulations. Since it is not clearly established that the veteran is given discounts on housing and communal services, disputes often arise in this area. They can be resolved in court.
Funeral services
The state guarantees the burial of a veteran at his own expense, whatever the cause of death. This involves the delivery of the body, preparation, redemption of the place and the creation of a tombstone. To receive benefits, family members should contact the administration or social security at the veteran's place of residence. If the burial was carried out at a personal expense, then compensation can be obtained.
In practice, compensation is not always issued in full, covering only part of the costs. It is impossible to challenge this in court, since the state side is usually accepted in such matters.
Taxes
Tax benefits are provided to veterans of military service. They are not calculated from benefits, payments, compensations . At the federal level, it was decided to exempt from property tax and partly on land. In the latter situation, a deduction from the cadastral value of land in the amount of 10,000 rubles is assumed, from which tax is not taken.
In the regions they cannot cancel or challenge the benefits approved by the federal government. Veterans of military service and some other beneficiaries were exempted from the land tax in several regions.
Housing Benefits
If a veteran is considered a senior soldier who needs housing, he can apply for a housing subsidy. This involves the allocation of money to buy an apartment or house in the property. Veteranism is awarded with a length of service of 20 years.

In some regions, there are special advantages, for example, benefits to veterans of military service in the Moscow region. To find out their list, you need to contact the department. If a person does not know his rights, they may not be respected.

- discounts on housing and communal services;
- service in medical institutions out of turn;

In large cities, travel benefits are provided to veterans of military service. This applies to public urban transport. To do this, you need to take a preferential ticket, for which there is no fee. It is necessary to apply to social protection. Such support in the regions is considered voluntary, but optional. Therefore, the requirement of free travel in the absence of such an advantage will be illegal.
Payments and benefits
The amount of benefits and their availability is set by regions. Not every city implements such measures. If the veteran is entitled to payments on other grounds, no one can refuse him. For example, if a disability is assigned, the state pays a special allowance. The regional authorities cannot cancel it.
Sun Veteran Status
Veterans of the Armed Forces are persons who have served in the troops of the Russian Federation and other state bodies. This status is confirmed by insignia:
- medals;
- orders;
- the honorary title of the USSR or the Russian Federation;
- interdepartmental signs.
Those who received a disease or injury in the service, which caused disability , can also gain status . The main thing is that the service life is from 20 years. If there is a certificate, a citizen has rights and benefits. The document is considered unlimited, it does not need to be confirmed and renewed. But in case of loss, it can be restored by going through a simple procedure.
Aircraft title
Obtaining the status of a veteran is carried out at the place of service. In addition to the application, papers must be provided that confirm receipt of this title. The collected documents are submitted to the pension and personnel departments at the duty station.
The application is considered 1 month, after which a decision is made. There may be both an assignment and a refusal to receive a rank. If a positive decision is made, then a certificate is provided. The document has an approved form, which is valid throughout the country. It denotes a list of citizen rights.
The recipient signs the receipt of the certificate. This fact is recorded in a special book. The certificate is signed by the authorized person and the seal of the state agency. In case of refusal, the reasons for the decision are stated, as well as the reasons.
List of documents
To get the status, you must provide:
- An application, a sample of which is provided in the personnel and pension departments.
- Documents confirming the need to obtain status - 20 years of service, medals, orders, titles, disability.
Pensions
Law No. 4468-1 indicates the need for military service. Departmental payments receive:
- military personnel;
- employees of state security agencies;
- employees in departments - the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service, the State Border Guard Service, and the Russian Guard.
Payments will be after reaching the length of service of 20 years, as well as the fulfillment of 45 years, 25 of which are experience and 12.5 are given to the service. With a length of service of more than 20 years, there is an annual increase of 3%. And with mixed experience, 1% is added.
Regional authorities set monthly payments, only in each region their size is different. But it is in the range of 600-900 rubles. The procedure for registration in each subject is the same. It is necessary to apply to social security or the MFC with a passport and a certificate. Payments are assigned from the date of submission of documents.
Pension and benefits increase in the presence of disability or work experience in the Far North. This applies to persons who participated in the elimination of nuclear accidents. In such cases, other benefits may be provided to citizens.
The rights of military service veterans are protected by the state. There are some benefits available, then they should be issued as quickly as possible. Such advantages make it possible to assign part of the costs to the state.
