The tradition of creating floral arrangements from improvised materials has been around for a long time. Even in Ancient Egypt, women decorated their clothes, hairstyles and homes with artificial flowers. In the Middle Ages in European countries, it was fun to know to make floral decorations, diversifying their leisure time, and at the end of the 18th century this “hobby” was put on a serial basis, the most needy were engaged in it. The work was painstaking, hard, low paid and extremely unhealthy, because in the production process often had to deal with even mercury. Today it is a diverse process that allows you to realize creative potential in search of beauty, harmony and originality through quite different techniques. Particularly popular jewelry in which there is a flower made of fabric in combination with other materials: beads, ribbons, braid, beads, rhinestones, copper wire and others.
The charm of manual creativity in the unity of result
The industry offers consumers a wide range of ready-made floral decorations for clothes and interiors. But much more valuable are compositions made by hand in a single, exclusive version. There are several basic ways to create a flower from a fabric.
Flower from the patterns
This is one of the easiest ways to create fabric floral decorations, in which the main element is patterns of different sizes and shapes. Flowers are created from several fragments of different colors or textures, assembled together with glue or simply sewn together. The photographs show different options for jewelry made in this way.
Fabric flower made from ribbons or textile cuts
Option one - from ready-made satin ribbons. For its manufacture, the finished tape in the hands is simply wrapped around the central fragment, in a special way twisting and periodically fixing with a needle and thread, which creates a reliable imitation of a real rose. The process is shown in a series of shots.
The second option is from a cut of fabric. To make such a flower, a narrow long flap is cut off (the width directly depends on the desired size of the finished flower), then the strip is folded in half, open sections are collected with a “needle forward” stitch on a thread and slightly pulled together, the “assembled” ribbon is folded into a flower and fixed with a needle first , and then glued to a cardboard, metal or plastic blank. It is possible to execute this variant from a single-layer cut, one cut of the fabric of which is figured cut, imitating the petals. Here is a photograph illustrating such a way of flower creativity.
Flower from fabric - we collect a bud from individual petals
The essence of this method is clear from the name itself. According to different patterns, petals of different sizes are made, each is either folded in a certain way, or stitched in a certain way along a pattern. Then the finished petals are collected in the final floral design. Here is an example of such work.
All of the previously listed methods are the easiest to manufacture, and this photo shows a bouquet of fabric flowers, the manufacture of which already requires from its creator decent skills in working with fabrics and certain technological knowledge of the process.
Origami technique in relation to the manufacture of floral arrangements
A very popular and effective way of bouquet "hand-made" is origami - a flower made of paper. The simplest forms of buds can be created from a single sheet, the more complex ones involve the manufacture of individual fragments, which are then assembled into the final paper bud.
Here are examples of whole magical compositions that can easily become an adornment of any interior. The main component of each such bouquet is a separate origami flower.
The charm of artificial fabric, paper or any other compositions imitating bouquets of natural flowers, in their durability, relative to their living counterparts. In addition to the fact that using such flowers in your interior or decoration of clothes, you do not loot in your flowerbeds, you are also not displeased to see the gradual dying of once-fresh flowers. And artificial analogues will delight the eye for a long time and warm the soul with the heat invested in the process of creating each individual element.
