Construction technology has made a significant breakthrough in recent years. This was largely due to the large number of scientific studies in this area.
Many high-class materials have appeared that make it possible to quickly and efficiently build houses, the cost of which is much lower than that of the brick traditionally used in this role.
One of these materials is the heat block, reviews of which clearly show that the owners of the cottages from it were completely satisfied.
Specifications
In general, a small “lyrical digression” should be made here, telling what it is. So, a heat block is called a composite material, the front side of which is represented by ordinary concrete. More often it doesn’t differ in any frills, but sometimes they produce originally painted options.
In the second row, the heat block, reviews of which we will consider, contains expanded clay concrete. It provides low thermal conductivity. It is this fact that underlies most of the positive reviews: the owners are pleased that they began to spend much less money on heating.
In the third layer (in the middle) there is a foam, due to which the heat block is practically compared with wood in its ability to conduct heat. Needless to say, how does this positively affect the thermal performance of the finished building?
Other benefits
Since of the really heavy components it uses only concrete, the heat block, the reviews of which are very eloquent, has a very low weight. In any case, those homeowners who built them on their own speak of the high speed of construction, as well as the simplest installation, which the same brick does not differ in any way.
You can work with it even in winter, since low weight and ease of processing contribute to this.
Negative opinion
As it usually happens, there were also “spiteful critics”. What are their claims related to? They say that the laying of heat blocks does not provide proper thermal insulation of the room. Allegedly, the gaps between them are too wide, which is why it blows in them.
It should immediately be said here that the blame for all this disgrace lies solely with themselves! The fact is that only the first (!) Row of heat blocks can be laid on a regular cement-sand mixture. All subsequent masonry is performed only (!) On a special glue, and they also fill all the vertical seams on the first row.
And further. Any construction from heat blocks involves the application of sealant or glue not only on the front side, but also on the foam layer. Otherwise, you will not achieve normal masonry strength!
conclusions
What to say as a result? We will stay somewhere in the middle. Yes, the heat block, reviews of which we examined, really refers to fairly cheap and high-quality building materials. But if you perform its laying strictly according to technology, then for repairing seams it will take more than one hundred tubes with sealant, the cost of which cannot be called low.
So the final decision on construction is made only for you, based on financial capabilities.
