It can be either story quests or guild tasks, as well as side orders that you can completely ignore. Speaking specifically about the fifth part, which received the name "Skyrim", here one quest deserves special attention. He offers you to find all the stones of Barenziah, which together will give incredible power. But how to do that? And what is the essence of this assignment in general? A little background
The greatest queen of Mornhold once wore the crown of Barenziah on her head, which became a legendary item. It was decorated with Barenziah stones, of which there were 24 pieces. However, at one far from the most pleasant moment these stones were taken out of the crown, and gradually they dispersed all over the world of Skyrim. There is a legend that if you collect all the stones together and insert them back into the crown, where they were earlier, then it will give the wearer incredible power. Together they can awaken ancient magic, which everyone desires. Therefore, you have to find all the stones of Barenziah, and you can start to do this even before you take the appropriate quest. If you find the Barenziah stone before the quest, you can pick it up. But at the same time it will be displayed in your inventory as unknown. However, as soon as the quest is received, you will immediately find out what kind of stone is in your inventory.
Quest for finding stones
Stones of Barenziah - this is the object of the quest "Look under every stone", which sounds pretty symbolic. You will have to really look into every corner of the vast world of Skyrim in order to achieve your goal. To take this quest, you need to find at least one of these stones, and also join the Thieves Guild, since this is where the character who can give you this task is located. Once all conditions are met, you will have access to this quest, and you can safely explore the world of Skyrim. The stones of Barenziah will be in various caves and treasures, as well as in the possession of various important characters, so you will have to try to collect all twenty-four pieces.
First stones
You can find the very first stone in the location of Ansilwund, between the two sarcophagi in the Burial Halls - this will begin your quest in Skyrim. Stones of Barenziah are sometimes quite difficult to find, so you should always carefully examine the various secret places and locations. The next stone you will find in Winterhold in the chambers of the archmage. Another stone of Barenziah can be found in the Dragon Limit location in one of the jarl's rooms. If you find yourself in the hall of the dead of Whiterun, then you will need to look into the catacombs - that is what will be what you were looking for. The next stone will be found in the living quarters of Yorvaskra. In Windhelm there is a clan house called the Shattered Shield - this is where there is another stone that you will need to obtain the strength of the crown. By the way, there is another stone in Windhelm - you can find it on the top floor of the Royal Palace. Well, if you are brought into the Smoky Cave, then there you can find the corpse of a necromancer, and next to him the desired item. More stones
Are you still tormented by the question of where are the Barenziah stones in Skyrim? Then go to Ingvild, find the royal palace, and in it - the throne room, there will be your stone. You can also find the necessary item in the Fellglow Fortress, it is located in the alchemy laboratory. To find the next stone of Barnesia, you have to go to Markarth, go there to the Podkamennaya fortress and find the Dwemer museum in it - there you will find what you need. But do not rush to leave Markarth, since there is another stone that you have to find - it is in the Treasury. Remaining stones
Unfortunately, the Barenziah stones on the map are not displayed - it would be too simple. But, following this guide, you have already found sixteen stones. Only eight left. First go to the castle of Folkrit, next to it will be the Divided Gorge, where you will find the stone. Then you will need to get to Riften, in the Mistvale Fortress. Get into the Jarl’s quarters there and take your trophy. At the exit of Riften, you should also look into the residence Black Heather and go to the upper floor. After that, your goal is Solitude, and more specifically, the Blue Palace, where there will be another Barenzia stone. There is also the High Spire - an estate that you can acquire, but it is more important to pick up a quest item from there. After finding all the stones, you will still need to find the crown itself, but what do you get in the end? The result of all your labors is a rather useful skill - thieves' luck. It is passive, but it pretty much increases the chance to find gems in any drop or chest. The skill sometimes reaches the point that in almost every chest you can find a certain number of different stones, which will undoubtedly be useful for you in the game.
