A holiday with masquerade elements is a wonderful event for both children and, of course, for adults. After all, everyone loves to dress in unusual clothes, transform and beat interesting images, especially if it is something original, ancient and unusual. If an adult goes to the masquerade, it is more difficult for him to make the outfit - you need more materials and better decorations. But with a child, everything is simpler and much more interesting. So, having thought with your daughter over the outfit for the upcoming holiday, you have chosen Cleopatra's costume. Where to start now and how to make it so that the child is the most beautiful at the holiday? By the way, an outfit for an adult can be done exactly the same, only the sizes will be larger.
General requirements
The future image should be not only beautiful, but also convenient. There should not be easily unfastened pins, sharp edges, easily falling off and detaching parts. It is necessary that the child is comfortable, easy and free. It is on the basis of these requirements that you need to create a fancy dress for the baby. In the case of an adult, the suit should be just comfortable and wearable.
Beginning of work
Doing Cleopatra’s costume with your own hands is not as difficult as it seems. But it will be a unique attire, and the second one at the holiday will not be absolutely accurate. For work, we need a long straight dress of white color or a white T-shirt with short sleeves (or even without sleeves) and a long skirt, gold foil for a headdress, belts and jewelry on the shoulders, sandals, small and large rhinestones, golden bracelets with or without stones , green (or any other) sequins, golden beads (or finished beads), a cut of green (the color also depends on the overall gamut of the suit) chiffon, buttons or velcro fasteners.
Dress
Cleopatra's costume is, of course, a traditional narrow white dress made of cotton or linen. If not, just sew a T-shirt and a skirt together. The sleeves of the t-shirt need to be cut off. Everything, with the main part we have finished, proceed to the decorations.
Queen's Belt
Of course, the outfit of a royal person needs jewelry. We take a piece of golden-colored fabric (or we can cover it with foil if there is no golden fabric), we make a wide belt, on which we sew with green sequins and rhinestones a semblance of an Egyptian pattern or just fancy curls. Here, in principle, it all depends on the imagination of the needlewoman. Exactly the same pattern will need to be applied to the rest of the costume. From the belt in the middle of the dress, a rather wide strip, also covered with a pattern, goes to the bottom. You can sew it to the hem or leave a triangular cut at a level just above the knees.
Bracelets
Cleopatra's costume requires bracelets made of golden fabric over the elbows and wrists. In principle, the latter can be replaced with real bracelets. On fabric we make the same pattern as on the belt.
Tiara and circle on shoulders
An ornament of gold fabric or thick foil on the shoulders is finished with the already familiar pattern and pebbles. Like bracelets with a belt, it fastens with Velcro or buttons - to whom it is more convenient. The tiara consists of a ribbon on the head, to which is attached a triangle of the same fabric or foil, decorated with rhinestones. On the sides cling to the threads of gold beads, falling on the shoulders (enough for three or four threads on each side).
Veil
If desired, Cleopatra's costume can be supplemented with a lush veil on the belt, simply by sewing a section or tying a lush bow with long tails. In an adult's outfit, it is better to leave only a flowing lush veil attached to the belt and wrists.
Makeup
Cleopatra's costume (this photo shows very clearly) needs some makeup as well. Of course, these are ancient Egyptian long arrows that harmoniously fit into the look and give a zest along.
